Why only 500 shares? The sizing indicates about a 26k account size with 2% equity risk and 5% stop... is Trend Fader getting to you?? :D

  2. Hilarious! Thanks for the chuckle. My last trade resulted in a loss. As a result, I scaled back my size as part of an overall money management approach. Should the MCRI trade result in a gain, I plan to scale up on subsequent trades to my normal levels.

  3. 2005-06-09, Thursday - Update

I neglected to post my Target Price and Initial Stop Price for the MCRI Trade. Notice, I used a 2% stop loss on this trade, and plan to do so with all subsequent trades.

    Target Price: $23.45
    Entry Price: $21.25
    Initial Stop: $20.82

  4. 2005-06-09, Thursday - MCRI Update

As actual volume for MCRI exceeded calculated FRV levels by EOD, I continue to hold all shares of MCRI until at least tomorrow. In addition, we improve our trailing stop upwards in accordance with rising price.

  7. 2005-06-10, Friday - Update

This morning I monitored one list of stocks (5 total equities): Those equities from our daily Hot List and from our Final Universe List finding themselves "In Dry Up."

    Dry Up Stocks

    EXM EZPW MFLX TASR USG

Our system generated one possible trade signal from the list of 5 Dry Up Stocks when actual volume exceeded calculated "Low Band" Dry Up Volume prior to 11:30 AM.

EXM did show price improvement at time of signal generation (11:22 AM). In addition, both MACD and The Stochastic Indicator fell within desired parameters. As a result, I entered into a long position with 1000 shares of EXM receiving a fill price of $16.40 USD. The particulars for the EXM signal are as follows:

    EXM

    Time: 11:22 AM
    Price: $16.40
    MACD: +.0721
    Stoch: 93.75
    Score: 0
    FRV: 312,960 shares

  8. 2005-06-10, Friday - EXM Update

For the second Friday in a row, we experienced a False Breakout (FBO) resulting in a loss. Today, Actual Volume for EXM failed to exceed FRV levels by EOD. As a result, I sold all shares of EXM receiving a fill price of $16.15 USD. The intraday EXM trade yielded a one day loss of .25 per share. Therefore, we experience a one day loss of $250 USD or -1.5% on 1000 shares.

I continue to hold all shares of MCRI.

I hope you find the above information useful.

  9. I wish to clarify how you apply your trailing stop. If you are using a 2% trailing stop shouldn't it have been hit today for MCRI? Or are you using a 2% initial stop loss for this trade but a 5% trailing stop? Could you provide the calculation or stop level? Thank you once again.

this is spy first words at beginning of journal. i did not follow all 200+ pages, but i was watching last few very close.
as been pointed by many readers spy is playing with sizes,"money management " and many other things, which is not been mentioned in description of method at beginning of journal. if he achieve extraordinary results more than year ago, what is the reason for all that stuff? if you change your stop from original 4-5% to 2% -do you really believe it will help you achieve a better results? i don't think so. 2% just too tight. and if you trade long enough-you should know it.
