I think symbol FORD is missing. symbols FORD and QSII are missing. The HOTLIST should consist of DCAI ELOS FORD GDP MCRI MFLX SNDA TRGL USG XXIA. The Stocks in dry up should be DCAI MCRI MFLX SNDA SYNA TASR TOPT. You use the HOTLIST and the Final Universe to scan for symbols in dry up. Spydertraders last published final universe: BCSI COGT DCAI ELOS EXM EZPW FORD GDP HANS JUPM MCRI MFLX PARL SGTL SIGM SNDA SYNA TASR TOPT TRGL UBET USG XXIA. As far as I understood this is a new hershey variant to get more tradeable signals. There is no prorata volume used. Only volume must exeed lower band value before 11:30, price must be above close of last day and the indicators MCAD histogramm positive and stochastics above 80. If a symbol has no dry up signal but reaches FRV before EOD then you have again a signal together with the other parameter in desired areas. SpyderTrader wrote: If volume fails to exceed Dry Up Volume ("Low Band, Pro-rata, or any other method of Dry Up Volume calculation) prior to 11:30 Am, then we have no signal. If volume reaches FRV levels by EOD, then we have a signal to enter into a long position (assuming Price, MACD & Stochastics confirm) on the day volume exceeded FRV levels. Best regards, Helmut
Thank you very much Helmut for your help. I 've got no clue why FORD is not included. Concerning the time when the lower band volume has to be exceeded, wasn't that 10:30? The time is Eastern Time, right?
Sorry Helmut, you're right. 11:30 is correct, I just read through some pages and found it. Does that mean the 50 % pro rata test at 10:30 is superfluous?
I read somewhere on this forum that with the older variant there was the possibility of using 25 % prorata DU at 10:00, 50% prorata DU at 10:30, 75 % prorata at 11:00 and of course the main signal at 11:30 100 % DU. My understanding is that if you take the signal prorata there is more risk involved. As I saw that you don´t care for the score of the stock. I think you should know where the stock is in the cycle (PriceCurve) i. Best regards, Helmut
On page #166 acesheet asked this question already and Spydertrader answered sort of that the score is "nice to look at" but does not build a source for any mathematically based analysis or even more than that. Correct me if I am wrong please.
Hi odelys, I may be reading this wrong, but it is not necessary to insert a column with this spreadsheet. All you have to do is hit the "hide" button, and it will automatically hide all stocks (rows) that do not meet the criteria you specified at the top (EPS, volume, min price, etc.). Once you hit hide, you can copy the rows that remain, Excel will not copy any of the hidden rows. This copy can be pasted directly into Wealth Lab. What I do is, once I have established my watch list for the day, I then score the stocks on the watch list (but not all stocks in the final universe). This tells me at what point in the cycle they are likely to be in. However, if you read Jack's, Spydertrader's and many others writings, this does not necessarily make or break a trade. I tend to use the score as a confirmation of a good trade, or possibly as a reminder that the trade I am about to make may not be such a good idea after all. For example, if price, MACD and Stoch are all looking good, but the chart and the score are looking bad, perhaps the risk is too great to take the trade. My 2 cents.
Hi smtrader, that would be true if the spreadsheet would be working as I think it should - but actually it doesn't. Something must be wrong in the EPS and the pricerange calculations as they do not get a red frame when changing the values on top of the spreadsheet. When changing the values for 'float', I can see changes in the cells below (on the 'watch list'). Changing EPS or price has no effect. I am going to attach the sheet I am using. Maybe you can correct the error
Well guys let me try it once more now! I am going to take Spydertrader's final universe, which is BCSI COGT DCAI ELOS EXM EZPW FORD GDP HANS JUPM MCRI MFLX PARL SGTL SIGM SNDA SYNA TASR TOPT TRGL UBET USG XXIA and let stocktables declare the list of symbols with setting 90 / 80: ADEX GLW MDRX TRGL ASPM NXTP ISRG ELOS AIR LSCP USNA UTHR BBSI MFLX CELG EEFT VMSI LFL DIOD SPTN ANTP AAPL ANIK LCBM MCRS MSB RG DATA VLG HWK AFFX IPS SNHY ANGO ANST ISSC MW CUTR HEP ACI CTSH HOLX JLG MSCC NSS URBN ACU JOYG ALDA NNI PTRY VHI VSEC LCAV AMHC GEHL LIFC LQU ANT SNDA CCJ FNDT TIE VPI FORD CRNS UNAM TRMD SLI IRIS BUCY AEOS LB QSII TNH JQH MKTAY ASEI AEIS CHTT GIL LI ADSK USG XXIA DHC PRGS PTEN CYH HRT TU CMN CYCL HUM SGK MCRI MPAC ARD BEBE MACR PTC CEDC UHCO PGIC DCAI CMTL SFSW ULTI VIVO KTII POPEZ FTO VLCCF BDMS LAN HP SRDX GPIC CPL Then I take the excel spreadsheet and reduce the stocktables output to MDRX TRGL ISRG ELOS LSCP USNA UTHR MFLX EEFT VMSI MCRS IPS MW HOLX JLG MSCC NSS URBN PTRY LCAV AMHC LIFC ANT SNDA TIE VPI FORD BUCY CHTT USG XXIA DHC PRGS CMN CYCL MCRI BEBE CEDC PGIC DCAI CMTL FTO VLCCF HP Now I run wealth-lab and create a watchlist with these results: DCAI ELOS FORD MCRI MFLX SNDA TRGL USG XXIA I try to find out which ones out of the daily hotlist AND the final universe are in the "dry up status" and get (running wealth-lab) DCAI ELOS EZPW MFLX SGTL SNDA SYNA TASR TOPT XXIA Now I have got 10 stocks to watch if a buy signal occurs at 11:30 et by reaching or exceeding lower band volume. Right? By the way I ran another script called "wealth-lab equations" and now I'm surprised to have got these weird signals from daily hot list and final universe (trying to print it in a tabular output): Code: Symbol Signal Name BCSI FRV 1 BCSI Frv #2 COGT FRV 1 COGT Frv #2 EXM FRV 1 EXM Frv #2 HANS FRV 1 HANS Frv #2 HANS Gainers over 10% PARL FRV 1 PARL Frv #2 SIGM FRV 1 SIGM Frv #2 SNDA FRV 1 SNDA Frv #2 UBET FRV 1 UBET Frv #2 USG FRV 1 USG Frv #2 USG Gainers 5-10% SNDA FRV 1 SNDA Frv #2 USG FRV 1 USG Frv #2 XXIA FRV 1 XXIA Frv #2 Still the question is open what these signals tell me if they tell me anything at all!? The new final universe looks like this now: BCSI COGT DCAI ELOS EXM EZPW FORD GDP HANS JUPM MCRI MFLX PARL SGTL SIGM SNDA SYNA TASR TOPT TRGL UBET USG XXIA Cheers Odelys
Question: Would it help to get a list printed by wealth-lab where you have the symbol, the number of shares to buy (if a signal occurs), the score and the volume to look at in a table like this one: Code: Symbol Date ChartScript Order Shares Type Price Signal Name DCAI 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 374 Market Score= 0 Lower Band= 46.781 ELOS 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 173 Market Score= 0 Lower Band= 48.305 EZPW 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 411 Market Score= 0 Lower Band= 47.021 MFLX 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 260 Market Score= 2 Lower Band= 49.899 SGTL 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 188 Market Score= 5 Lower Band= 329.029 SNDA 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 158 Market Score= 2 Lower Band= 169.453 SYNA 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 271 Market Score= 5 Lower Band= 287.122 TASR 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 596 Market Score= 0 Lower Band= 1.526.803 TOPT 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 317 Market Score= 5 Lower Band= 169.563 XXIA 02.05.2005 Hershey Equities Output Buy 320 Market Score= 2 Lower Band= 157.590
My watch list of stocks in DU is: DCAI EZPW SGTL SNDA SYNA TASR TOPT I think you should only use the 3 chartscripts mentioned by Spydertrader for this new method in test!! Final universe will/should be changed only one time at the end of the month. Helmut
