I had the signal at 10:30 ET. things started turning south so I stayed out.

I entered ENER at 10:55 3 minutes past signal generation. Still in it. I should have sold but my stop did not hit and I missed the close because of work. Will be selling most likely in the morning.

My dryup list with LDUV for tomorrow. will double check the volume in the morning.

Be aware that JMDT is in the process of being taken over by EA, so the stock should probably be discarded as a viable F.U. stock....

  3. Gooch,

Ditto your list and mrpace thanks for the info on JMDT.

Any thoughts on Tuesday's trading as today may have below normal volumes?

    Doug,

I thought mrpace executed his vphm trade just fine. I believe that these thinly traded stocks are manipulated easily to shake out these 2% stops. When I had my Ameritrade account often the candle would dip just enough to capture my stop and continue the uptrend. I use a mental 2% stop but a hard 5% stop most of the time. On the VPHM trade i was travelling on Monday and had to start work early so I missed both sell signals. I also was playing with fire because I had no stop order in on those days. I was lucky because I was able to sell VPHM on Thursday for a wash. I totally broke the rules so I did not want to post my trade here. I am lucky VPHM didn't do like CTHR did.

    Wow look at FORD collapse.

I think using channels is a great way to calibrate yourself. I am going to try to incorporate them into my trading too.

I'm finding it strange that I seem to be the only one who witnessed a clear buy signal on NGAS last Thursday morning. This thing had almost 80,000 in volume within the first couple of minutes, and it was clearly going up....Stochastics were at or over 80, and MACD was positive.

What charts and/or data are you guys looking at? Is my data that messed up? LOL

  8. mrpace,

I use Tradestation and its data. Attached is my equivolume chart, 5000 share bars, for NGAS on 12/22. The bars turn green if LBDUV is exceeded. It includes premarket trades.

It shows LBDUV broken about 9:30 AM CST just about the time the price peaked. I can see an entry here but my recollection is that it started dropping like a rock about the same time DUV was reached. Luckily I was not present when this happened.

I had LBDUV at 218000 shares.

Hmmmm...something obviously wasn't right with the data I was using that day....either that, or I swallowed a stupid pill right before trading opened.....

    Scary stuff either way....

I passed on this as I think the stoch was going down. I am becoming very skeptical of signals generated when the stochastics and MACD are so close the "go no-go" line. Here is the data from Ameritrade and a copy of my chart. I had low band dryup volume of 256670 on last thursday. I hope this helps in some way.
