  1. I just notice the VOLUME AVG(65) are different too... that part I don't know why? I double check and they both have today's bar as data in the chart. Hmmm....

  2. Holy smoke! Maybe the problem is in the Wealth-lab volume data. I have the two images side by side. Look at LIFC's volume for today. They are different!

I have always been a bit wary of the data on the WealthLab website, if only because at times, it seems they have updated some stocks, and not others, with today's data.

What you are seeing may be another quirk, and another reason to get a hold of Wealth-Lab Developer....through Fidelity....

  4. I think perhaps you have missed the hint contained in my previous post. As a result, I'll try to be more direct.

Let me clearly point out that I have no problems with people posting their own interpretations and iterations of the Hershey Equities System. Whether someone uses IBD100, stocktables.com, or the gallas2 MSN culling criteria matters little when it comes to how a trader actually trades. Feel free to post your results, and others should also feel free to do the same.

However, my concern for you results not from your use of IBD, but rather, out of the observation that you often tweak your rationale behind entry, holding or selling based on events which have little to do with the system itself. In short, I feel the problems you experience may have resulted from your own doing, rather than, by the choice of system, or list.

By example, you have often (according to your own posts) chosen to hold (when others have sold) after 'feeling' the S & P might head in a certain direction. You add a tweak here, and another tweak there, and the next thing you know, you find yourself trading a system which has very little resemblance to the posts you reviewed in the Original Journal. In addition, you have indicated that "you haven't had the time" to complete your review of the Original Journal.

Now, I mean you absolutely no disrespect when I say this, but I have absolutely no understanding of the rationale behind risking hard earned money on something in which you do not yet have a complete and thorough understanding. I truly do wish for you significant success, but I simply could not sit idly by and watch you (as it appear to me, and perhaps others) self destruct by not giving yourself the best possible opportunity for success.

I am simply suggesting you take a look at the way you endeavor to achieve, and set rules for yourself to follow. Take a good look in the mirror and answer honestly. Have you given yourself the best chance at success? If not, why not? Lastly, what can you do to alter the course on which you find yourself travelling.

Again, I've based these observations from your posts. If I have misinterpreted anything, please feel free to ignore my analysis.

Very strange indeed. I appreciate you bringing this to my attention, and I plan to add your recommended code on the next update.

  5. Spydie,

No I got the hint before... I think that is an inherent problem with myself which got magnified when trading someone else's system. At first, I thought this is a swing trading system but as I delve into it... It becomes more like a day trading system as many probe trades didn't go and I try to minimize the number of trades taken because it doesn't fit my Dad's profile. If it was my own account, I don't care about all the getting in and out... I do that all day with ES. I think it might be better to back off from this before I hurt myself. Actually it was overall green all this time until the NTRI trade this week which I put a larger position on.

Have a great vacation. Merry Christmas.

  7. Spydie,

Thanks again. I am really thinking about this.

    Good trading to all.

    Regards,
    William

P.S. I think the initialization code might not be necessary since we pinpoint the problem to be in the data. Wealth-lab script probably zeroes out thing in the global area??

Mine is the same except for PETS, for some reason I don't have that even though it's on my Final Universe list. I did my run at about 11:00 PM EST last night.

[EDIT] I take that back, I double checked and it was NOT on my Final Universe
