bi9foot... sorry, I succeeded in accidentally entering a duplicate post. I thought I was successful in deleting it, but it was up for a while, so you might have seen it. I apologize, I did not intend to repost. I asked my wife to see if she could port your model display into MAK's excel program... she will take a look next week. If she is successful, I will post the new excel file.
Alright. I don't know where we're going, but I'll trust you and do what I can to follow. This is a strange, disconcerting place to be. I'm learning just enough to see how ignorant I am, but haven't yet learned enough to see my path FWIW, for others like me, I found the SCT High Velocity Profits Q and A Journal has many insights, and Jack is unusually clear in his descriptions, making it possible for slow learners like me to glean insight. I keenly hope that your next journal will stay as courteous as your last two so it won't get shut down.
With respect to learning Jack's Futures methods, the mistakes you make along the way provide the very best method for training your mind. At first by accident, and then by design, you'll end up trading through these flaws as you encounter them. However, right now (and this works both with equities and futures) focusing on the fundamental components (one at a time) provides a superior foundation for success. Already, you know what to look for with respect to finding a 'Hitch.' At the right time, you'll have all the information you need to recognize each and every flaw, and to distinguish them from an FTT. However, we need to learn the 'rules' (FTT) before we focus on 'exceptions' (flaws). In addition to the SCT thread, search the posts of jack hershey, Grob109 and bubba7. Jack has provided numerous posts on these methods in the past. I see no reason we should not expect the current trend to continue. - Spydertrader
Funny, because the grid control has an option for excel look and that is what I selected. I did not think of using excel at all (sometimes we programmers overlook a simpler solution ). I will try to find MAK's excel program and see if I can get it done.
Spydertrader, In your opinion and / or experience, how portable is this 5 minute ES / FTT trading methodology to larger time frames, and to liquid stocks and ETFs? I started to apply it to daily charts, and to other markets like QQQ, SPY, DIA, TXN, AAPL, GOOG, BRCM, and others. So far I had some hits and some misses. I blame the later mostly on my errors and my lack of skill. As you go to larger time frames and to other markets, some characteristics change. E.g. larger time frames mean that trends are relatively smaller, the 6.5 hour / day introduces more discontinuities, etc.. Thanks
Any market, using any time frame - provided sufficient liquidity exists. Attached, see the Daily QQQQ. A few traders (who follow these Journals) already use FTT's while trading ETF's. Other traders, who follow the equities only methods, use FTT's in their own trading. They simply haven't had the Aha! moment yet to realize it. - Spydertrader
See here for one of the iterations Mak generously provided - it's the last post on the page. He also attached one at a later point which contained stretch/squeeze information.
REB, Yes, I am using TS. The Stacked Volume came from Mikeytrader in this post. http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=1297418#post1297418 For whatever reason, I ended up having to start the session 10 min before the RTH to get the first volume bar to show up correctly. JD
Would someone directe to the Hershey website with all the materials from the Tucson group? My computer crashed and I lost all my Favorites. Thanks Don
