    Spydertrader,

    Do you use Unusual Volume in Qcharts to short stocks like IIIN today for example. If so what additional criteria do you use for entry and exit?

    Thanks

  2. Sold all shares of DTLK when Ross' Rule kicked in. The loss on the 700 shares (including commissions) totalled $85.00 USD.

  3. Yes, I sort my entire Final Universe by Unusual Volume. For additional entry criteria, I like to see rising MACD (for longs) and preferably green MACD Histogram. In addition, I like to see a rising Stochastics (5,2,3) with upward divergence. Intertwining Stochastics (14,1,3) also makes for a nice entry. As you pointed out, IIIN made it to the .22 finish line faster than all other equities this morning placing it atop the Final Universe. It remained there the entire day.

  4. I also got into DTLK last night @ 10.63. I liked it on the daily until I noticed (like a fool, after I entered) that the MACD is in fact still descending. I got out, most likely because of the simple reason to have a green entry on one of my trades for the week, I exited @ 10.70.

    I also hopped in and out of EZPW twice for a tiny profit. Not sure why I behaved that way. I received my signals to enter short, and did so, but then I noticed it hopping between 43 and 42.60 a lot. So I traded those tiny movements. Due to this ‘playing’ I missed a great opportunity in COGO, which was on my shorts list also.

    Hi 10k1d
    I start on the daily fractal. Like cipherscribe said, the price was approaching the bottom of the channel. So where to enter… I zoomed into the 30 min. fractal, and the indicators were moving in the right direction. (I missed the crucial point that there was no increase in volume. I see it now that I am explaining my trade.) Instead, I zoomed in closer to the 5min. fractal to see what it looked like. There was one pennant and another forming as I watched. I was also watching the size of the orders on level 11 to see where the buyers and sellers were. I really forgot about the big picture at this point. (volume increasing then price trend continues)

    I saw pennant B form and then the breakout that started pennant C. I was focused and waiting for the breakout of the pennant at point C, and I jumped in. Then we had a mini dryup and didn’t know where it would end so I sold. Then it broke out again. I waited for support and bought on the final breakout only to watch price dwindle back to the support. I held for the rest of the day because volume was above the .22 level and I figured there was too much support at the 14.70 level (big risk) so that was it. Today, there was no price improvement again, so I sold, and went to work.

    I hope this helps you and good trading to you.

  7. Going through the IBD100, I see a couple of contenders for FU membership that are *close* to the minimum requirements.

    ANEN: Volume is 189k and has been increasing over the last month or so;
    ICE (NYSE): Price is $81;
    LQDT: Volume is 121k. Probably too low for most peoples consideration;
    NVEC: Float is 4.2M. An old FU member, that might be worthwhile considering again. Gained some good ground recently.

    I might consider adding all but LQDT in. Not that there isn't enough candidates with the current FU. Spyder, what's your thoughts on these stocks?

  8. As most of you probably are aware, Jack has been doing live meetings with an IBD group in Tucson. I happen to be in Milwaukee and was wondering if anyone else in my area (southeast WI or northeast IL) might like to form a work group to study/review/plan etc. Face to face efforts seem to really payoff. PM me if interested. Location is open depending on interest, but I do have a wonderful club room in my apartment building that would suite us great.
