Hi Don,
I just save the excel file as a .csv file and then import.

I have not tried to import a .xls file.

Your stock symbols must be in the first column.

To create a final universe do the following with the Hershey Trader v1.0 .

Assuming you have it installed and running…
1. Left Click ‘WINDOW’ then ‘PREFERENCES’ (top left hand corner)
2. when the popup window appears Right Click ‘HERSHEYTRADER’
3. type in the information about your stocktables.com account and select the screening parameters and Click ‘APPLY’ and then ‘OK’
4. In the ‘SECURITIES’ tab on the left, Right Click the folder ‘ALL’ and select ‘STOCKSCREENING’
5. When the program is done downloading the stocks from stocktables.com, you are ready to get rid of the non-ranking stocks.
6. Right Click ‘ALL’ again and select ‘UPDATE FINANCIAL DATA’
7. Left Click ‘ALL’ again and the ‘HERSHEY DATA’ should fill in.
8. Right Click ‘ALL’ again and select ‘UPDATE QUOTES’
9. Left Click ‘ALL’ again the dryup values appear.
10. Right Click ‘ALL’ and select ‘UPDATE FINAL UNIVERSE’
11. Now you have a Final Universe where all of the stocks have rank but some will not qualify for EPS or Float. Just delete the stocks that have low EPS or Float.
12. To make a Dryup List…
13. Right Click the folder labeled ‘DRYUP LIST’ and select ‘REFRESH DRYUP LIST’
14. Left Click the folder labeled ‘DRYUP LIST’ and the list should fill in.

Cant figure out what I could be doing wrong.
Do the all stockscreening.
Starts the download process but nothing is downloaded no stcck symbols. All folder is empty.
Im using a software firewall

Thanks. Actually, I was using aa IBD100 spreadsheet. I saved to .csv per your suggestion and deleted all but stock symbols and it downloaded correctly.
I am not using stocktables at the moment. Next I am going to try MSN Stock Screener.

I don't know what could be going wrong with your setup mktman. I am running from behind a firewall also.
The first time the HersheyTrader tried to access the internet, my firewall popped up a screen asking to let it pass or not, that was it.
