  2. Here's something you don't see everyday - an Equities Rocket in the same equity in opposite directions on the same day.

    Question for qx....

Doing my daily calculations, and I find that your Hershey trader software has a lot more stocks from my FU in dry up than Spyder's DU script on Wealth lab...

Did you use the exact same formula as Spyder's DU script - and therefore the difference is due to the Yahoo data vs Wealth-lab data?

    Just wondering.... thanks in advance...

I was just wondering if anyone is using both the MSN Deluxe Stockscreener AND Stocktables to get candidates for the final universe. From reading the posts throughout the journals it seems that both options provide quality stocks that are profitable, as to which one is better I can not say. I haven't done this yet as I am still working on internalizing all the basic aspects of the Jack Hershey methods, but I suppose if the time comes when there aren't that many stocks in the FU or we aren't getting that many signals, using both programs might be beneficial. Any other thoughts on this?

See my posting about volume adjustment for stock split. In my software I use the same formula as Spydertrader's DU script but with adjusted volume. Therefore the result could be different if the stock had splits.

Its already been said but great program qx. I finally downloaded it today and got all the stocks updated, and everything is working great! I just have one question. What is the pro-rata column on the quotes section? If I remember correctly pro-rata (25%,50%, 75%) was used based on the DU calculations to take an earlier entry, but i have a feeling this is something different. Could u fill me in, thanks.

  8. From time to time, I run through the entire stock market culling for Hershey parameters. With Qcharts, culling the entire stock market doesn't take that long. However, doing so has never produced more than a handful of additional stocks to add to the Final Universe. When I do cull the entire stock market (as opposed to only using the 80 EPS and 80 RS ranks) I add the "25% Insider Owned" parameter as well. A recent run showed TWPG as a possible addition (although it only currently has 136 days of data). As you can see, what source one uses to obtain "High Quality Equities" matters less than each equity having a rank.

    Just my 2 cents.

I calculate it just in time, i.e. from second to second.

Noticed in 1st journal it was indicated in the Method Summary "Stops should be placed at 5% below the equity price."

Assume they are placed as a "Trailing Stop".

Any other suggestions for placing stops?

ALSO ..... any suggestions on entry order price. Market? Limit? How to select Limit price?

    Thanks.
