If anyone is looking for a quick way to get to rcar's program instead of bookmarking it to favorites or going back to the journal u can set it to be right on your desktop. First, go to rcar's program website, then click on favorites, add if to favorites, put your cursor over the link in favorites so it is highlighted, then right click. Go to "Send to" and click on "desktop". That will add a short cut on your desktop so that u can go right to the site. Its not anything great but it will save a little bit of time.
My Needs remain small. I'd like to have a stand alone Earnings Cull program with the ability to import a list of stocks. Thank you for your efforts. - Spydertrader
Nobody asked for your opinion Spydertrader !! Just kidding!!! Thanks again for these 2 great journals and I am amazed by how many supportive guys there are here on elitetrader.
Hopefully this will work for you! I created this excel file that parses Clearstation and yahoo. I figure that everyone is pretty familiar with excel and knows how to import into it. Also, I think I laid it out in such a way that you can customize it to your liking pretty easily. I think I have it working pefectly so. Here are the directions. 1. FIRST, open Excel (before you even download the file. ) 2. Press alt + F11 3. From the Microsoft Visual Basic Menu, Select TOOLS, select REFERENCES, then find "Microsoft Internet Controls" and place a checkmark next to it. Click OK and Exit everything. 4. The rest should be self explanatory. I hope that this will do what you want it to do.
I was re-reading the journal when I noticed this mistake above in red. I hope non of you were misled by this typo. It should have read less than 60,000,000. My apologies, gooch87
Yes, it should fill in just like the yahoo column. Try it again and let me know if there is still a problem with the Clearstation column filling in. Once Yahoo is complete, it could pause for up to 15 seconds or so before clearstation gets going (I just tested it again and it all works here)
Spydertrader et al, Excellent Journal! I can't get away from it...... I have been reading both the first & current journal and believe I have a good understanding of the JH methods described. Since I know absolutely nothing about stocks and/or trading, (other than what I've learned in the journals) I was wondering if anyone could please help me with getting quotetracker setup correctly? I am ready to begin paper-trading & have setup a demo acct on MBTrading but am overwhelmed when I try to figure out what to do with quotetracker........there are so many settings!! Any help would be greatly appreciated! payguard
Journal One contains instructions for setting up Quotetracker. I believe the instructions unfold over several posts if memory serves. - Spydertrader
