These are real-time paper trades (everything is there except the risk / reward part and the stress): Buy GIGM 8.11 - 12:20 11 July Buy IVAC 23.98 - 12:35 11 July Buy PRFT 13.10 - 12:30 11 July PRFT and IVAC are gap-ups on positive announcements - what do we think about these? If anyone is interested in my decision process I'm happy to explain further, it will help me learn. For tomorrow's open I like: FTEK IIG LMIA RACK NTRI Subject to all the usual conditions. Also REDF, but not sure about the float size. JY
I've been a quiet follower for quite awhile and thank everyone for what I've learned from the two threads. I'd be happy to code an an easy to use earnings calendar lookup utility available over the Internet that you could simple plug the FU into and have it spit out the dates for all symbols if you guys tell me which website you'd like to "rely" on. Or I could code multiple sources into a dropdown that the user could choose from. Wouldn't take longer than an hour or two. Let me know if you're interested and what website(s) you'd like scraped.
I have something working already that suits my command-line nature, but I'm sure it'll give other people grief. If you have the time and skills to code something up, then I'm sure it'll be appreciated. To get the earnings date from zacks.com, I'm using: http://www.zacks.com/research/report.php?type=report&t=YHOO (but replace YHOO with whatever you like) Good luck.
Hi Ready, I use the MSN deluxe screener exclusively now, with the criteria file attached that was coded by a kind individual earlier in one of the journals... can't remember who or where, but here it is... It approximates the criteria set out for use with the Stocktables website screener. cheers.
Thanks gpzany. Can you let me know how do i open .iff files. I google the web, but was unable to get any clear answer. I'm using windows XP.
I would use this tool everyday. http://www.zacks.com http://www.earnings.com http://www.clearstation.com http://finance.yahoo.com http://www.quote.com I really like the ability to import a list of symbols in for the program to find. Anybody have any additional web sites they use for earnings? Thanks for sharing your efforts with the group. - Spydertrader
Nice job on the trades. I recommend keeping a log of gap open trades you take. Include the gap size (percent) and the trade result. You may find a correlation which advises you to take or avoid certain gap trades. - Spydertrader
