Hi Spidie, I am really impressed with everybody contributed here. My parents have a "buy-and-hold" stock account that I don't trade, I decided this is a good opportunity to apply this method on 25% of their account to beef up the performance. They asked me to put in some efforts I'm just going thru all the scanning steps and wonder if you can post your current final universe for me to double check. Thanks! I haven't kept a separate excel sheet for my Hershey Equities Trades since closing the original Journal six weeks ago. During that time, I purchased a custom built trading computer (and transferred all files from the old system), consolidated and transferred most of my trading accounts over to MBTrading.com, made numerous 'test' trades to familiarize myself with the MBT trading software, and enjoyed some much needed time off (away from the markets). In addition, the area in which I reside suffered widespread power outages and cable internet interruptions recently due to storm damage - creating a less than desirable trading environment. The local cable company continues to work on fixing the internet interruptions 3 weeks after the onset of the original problem. I plan to create a separate P & L sheet at the beginning of 2006 in an effort to track all Hershey Trades (long and short) separate from other trading methods I use. I plan to track these trades for all of 2006. - Spydertrader
Cool! Thanks. Sorry this is my first day into this. On the cheat sheet, you said copy the dry-up list and run each symbol with Hershey Equities Rank v.3.0.0... you mean just scan the entire dry-up list... Correct? I scanned FORD KNDL NGPS with Hershey Equities Rank v. 3.0.0 and get no alert. Am I doing it right? Thanks.
Unfortunately, you have confused several of the various scans, and it appears you have used the Rank Scan when you should have used the Dry Up Volume Scan. These methods should provide some clarification for you. As I have often recommended in the past, start at the beginning and read through the entire thread taking notes as you go. I cannot place enough emphasis on learning the fundamentals behind the system. While certainly reading through the entire thread requires significant effort, the benefits of doing so far outweigh the time involved. By studying the methods and internalizing the process you build the strong foundation needed to trade these methods profitably. In addition, reading the entire thread (at least once) creates the opportunity to learn from the mistakes of others (myself included) in an effort to avoid similar pitfalls. It wasn't all that long ago, another contributor to this thread posted similar questions to those you now ask. I offered him the same advice I have provided you. He now posts profitable trades. I recommend you follow his example. Good Luck on your Journey, and Good Trading. - Spydertrader
The three stocks were the results of the Dry-up volume scan. I see what I did wrong just as I suspected from your wordings in the method cheat sheet. The third script is not a scan. The rank script takes an indivdual stock symbol as input. The WealthLab point of entry should be at "My ChartScripts" -> click on "Hershey Equities Rank v. 3.0.0". Thanks.
A little slow to log onto my account.... Enter 100 FORD at 24.86. Reached LowerBand Volume = 193,392 before 11:30am. The method cheat sheet does not mention the cut-off time. Is it 11:00am or 11:30am? I am trying this breakout. Was there signal days before? Since this is not exactly at the pullback when volume really dries up. Now wait to see if FRV reached at the end of the day... My first Hershey trade.
