  1. With today's volume only 10,000 shares under yesterday's volume, and price continuing to improve, I decided to hold NDAQ another day. The system had another great day of signals, I hope many of you did well today.

  2. I held TASR past open due to getting in late from Interstate travel. Got taken out by the spike down to 10.68 (stop was at 10.75). Note to self, stay up and exit on open regardless

    Currently long
    IIJI @10.48
    BTUI @ 17.42
    VPHM @ 12.09
    CKCM @ 24.73
Took a 2% hit on REDF as well.

  3. I hope these stocks continue to stay in the money for you. I don't quite understand the IIJI trade. If memory serves, IIJI gapped up by about 8% this morning. As a result, I avoided this trade entirely. Does your automated program not factor in large gaps yet? If not, you might consider some sort of fail safe coding to avoid these large gappers (or at least delay the entry) until you can judge the direction after the gap.

    Keep up the great work.

  4. Hi Spyder, You're correct in that the gap protection isn't coded in yet. I'm having a couple of issues with the robustness of it and since this is still papertrading, I'm giving it two weeks of 'pre-production' to ensure that the actual placing of trades, etc. is rock solid before I let it loose on my live account.

The change in daylight savings also means that I can monitor the US market open without staying up half the night (the market now opens at 11.30pm local time, rather than 1.30am).

Sometimes the old watch list comes in handy, I had VDSI on QT and it started to move up nicely. Checking the chart it looked like a perfect setup on the 2 week chart. Got in at $8,63, still in.

Great work with AmiBroker, this could work well for people who work during market hours.

hi all, hope you're doing well lately. I've had a couple of good trades on IIJI (closed today when gapped up) and SIRF (closed but I'm waiting to re-enter).

just thought I'd share my SIRF analysis to get some comments and suggestions... I'm traditionally a price and volume (ONLY) guy and have a hard time using Stochastics.

Daily chart for SIRF looks good too...your comments and suggestions are welcome!

    My TASR trade update

I entered the trade on 4-6-06 when it reached LBDV at $11.01 and was stopped out today when my protective stop was hit at $11.08

In addition to the fact that it triggered a signal LBDV before 11:30 Stoch above 80 macd positive Spydertrader noticed that is was a “Cup with handle formation” here is my analysis of that. Chart to follow.

“A” is the start of the cup
“B” is the bottom of the cup and notice volume dryup as well.
“C” is where the handle forms. It is also in the top half of the cup and price does not go lower than 15% of the top. (top was formed on 2/14/06 $11.31) (low of the handle on 4/4/06 at $10.29)

We are missing the large spike in volume.

I have the pivot point at $11.24

This stock should never had been in my Final Universe.
Step 1. EPS rating must be at least at 80 to make it. IBD has it at 32 on the “smart select rating” and it has negative earnings.

Thank you Acesheet for tipping me off that this was not a quality stock. I Should have comprehended that

I am going to remove this stock from my final Universe at once.

Overall this was a great learning experience thank you for the help.

  9. Gooch,

According to the 'rules', it is a valid inclusion into the trading Universe.

A stock needs to be EPS > 80, etc. to make it in, but once the stock is in, as long as it maintains rank, it stays in, regardless of the fundamentals, etc.

Several of my universe stocks have tanked fundamentally, but they are still there . Look at FORD for example. MSN (I use the 'GALLAS2' universe screen) has its YTD EPS Growth at -43. This certainly wouldn't make it if it was trying to get added to the Universe now.

However, it has moved 20%+ more than 5 times in the past 6 months so in it stays. If we had deleted it because of the bad fundamentals, we would have missed out on the 30%+ run up that it has had recently.

    I see mischief,

I was looking at the growth in earnings and substituting that for the actual earnings. So I see that Yahoo has the EPS at .02 positive but the quarterly earnings growth is -97.70%

Live and learn sooner or later:)
