Here is the Final Universe that I have and my discrepancies BNT BOOM BTUI CERS CKCM CTHR DXPE ENER FMCN FORD GMXR GROW HANS IIJI LMS MTEX NGAS NTRI NWRE PWEI RACK REDF SFCC SIMO SIRF TIE TRLG TXCO VPHM MEK CTRN -- added recently NDAQ -- I don't have b/c float is 68mill? data source discrepancy? RACK - - I think there was an eps discrepancy on this, I think it is positive eps now? MEK, CTRN -- I put these on recently, Spyder are you letting these 'earn' their way on the list or am I missing something? btw I hope there are some happy people on this thread that got into NWRE today, really nice move. I paper traded it... I am a bit gun shy after taking a head fake on NGAS on 3/2/06 , not taking profit when I should have, and ended up losing a bit, hehe. thanks in advance for any comments
I added MEK a few weeks back before I noticed it traded on the AMEX. I deleted MEK soon after realizing my initial error. Since many traders have no problem trading on the AMEX, I didn't announce the change. According to QCharts, CTRN has a Float of 4.4 million shares - slightly under my minimum requirement. According to QCharts, NDAQ has a Float of 58.4 million shares - within my maximum float requirement of 60 million shares. According to QCharts, RACK still has a negative EPS. The Difference in EPS value most likely has resulted from a difference between yearly EPS and quarterly EPS use between your data source and QCharts. I hope the above provided some clarity with respect to the Final Universe discrepancies. - Spydertrader
Is the hershey system an end of day system? I ran the Hershey script v1 from wealth-lab.com but it didn't rank my stocks.
The Hershey Equities Method can be used to trade EOD only. Most traders, however, use the system to swing trade stocks over a period of a few days. The attached file is a screen shot of ChartScript - Hershey Equities Rank v. 1.1.0 on Wealth-Lab.com. I have circled where to locate rank. Additional upgrades to that first Chart Script have occurred since the first version was written. Most people now use Version 3.0 - Spydertrader <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1015136>
A couple of people have asked if I could post the Amibroker setup I use. Attached are the 4 files. Hershey Complete.afl An EOD file that plots, rank and score. Similar to the wealth-lab version 3.0 script that SpyderTrader created. Stoch & MACD files. While these are titled '1 min' they can be used on any timeframe. They simply use timeframe compression to create a 30 min stoch & MACD in lower timeframes (e.g. 5 or 1 min) DU Volumes - An EOD file that calculates 5 different types of dry up (as per the formulas posted in the journal) and paints the volume bar white if it is in dry up. You can also run an exploration to quickly find the stocks in dry up. I've previously posted the auto-trade script as an example. Note that it has undertaken some major revisions since then, as I was not getting a trade logged when I should have. I've re-evaluated my method of signalling trades to IB. The logic is the same (i.e. Stoch > 80, MACD >0, DU Vol exceeded based on previous days volume), just the way of implementing it is different.
Thanks for sharing your efforts. I appreciate the valuable contributions you have made to the discussion. Keep up the great work. - Spydertrader
mischief, unfortunatelly I'm getting no results when I "explore" using Hershey Complete.afl. I have my chart set to Daily and my Exploration settings to Filter : Watch List containing Final Universe and Range: All Quotations. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Thanks in advance for your help.
"Additional upgrades to that first Chart Script have occurred since the first version was written. Most people now use Version 3.0 - Spydertrader" I ran Version 3.0 using wealthlab but in the scan results I don't see any rankings of stocks. Am I to assume that the stocks listed under the scans are all the stocks that are in play? It doesn't list the limit orders either.
You might review the methodology post to insure a correct understanding of which scans to use for what purpose. As indicated in all chartscript descriptions, the scans do not actually produce limit orders. I simply used an 'order generating code' to produce the alerts. Make sure you scroll down to the commentary window to locate the alerts. I hope that helps. - Spydertrader
