Spoke with Joel Blum at TOS about options on futures. He reiterated that he expects (hopes) to have these available by the end of the year.

Every time I talk to them I mention the thread and how there's a lot of talk about options on futures.

I have a couple of days to fund my new IB account before they cancel it. I think I'm going to let it die and wait for ToS.

I'm nursing a decent gain in my triple diagonal, too many damn choices getting close to expiration. Do I close and move on to Oct, do I go for an Oct Iron Condor, do I lock in some gain by creating a Sept spread by buying something, making myself dizzy thinking about it. I would prefer the market drop next week to pump up volatility, a rising market and dropping VIX won't help me at all.

  5. Anyone have any experiences on trading these spreads on the big SP futures? Are there any benefits to trading these over the SPX other than leverage?

It was a TradeKing account. I've been pretty pleased with their fills.... but the trading platform sucks. It's darn right terrible.

PS... yes it was Tuesday, the first trading day of the week.

Oh.. and did I forget to mention the 'GUEST SPEAKER' who will be parchuting in to speak with us......

    Da..Da...

John 'X-mas Tree' Maverick, from VTraderPro, Chicago branch office.

We're hoping John will scare enough people into realizing their disadvantaged retail margin accounts can't compete on a level playing field as compared to 'haircut' margin.

Maybe he'll just scare them out of trading all together....

    Stay tuned!

PS Coach, you always have an open invitation, John must call first!

    Jim,

We would love to have you.

Our next goal, after the group account is set up with VTraderPro, is to open a 'Trading Center' downtown.

We're hoping to lease the 4th floor of a brand new YMCA. The all glass offices would overlook the city, and have stairway access to the gym & pool facilities below. Trade/workout.... trade/swim... trade/whirlpool.... trade/eat...... trade/racketball.... trade... etc.

What's really cool... is they may pay us to move into their facility..... as long as we provide our educational services to their YMCA members as part of their 'wellness' program.

Now that's a WIN-WIN situation, both for us and them.

Still lots of details.... but it could be a one-of-a-kind program.

Also, the downtown chamber-of-commerce is interested in setting up an educational program for people to learn about managing their money.... not necessarily trading per say.

It's all beginning to snowball.... and I'm still holding down a 'real' job..... Currently we have four of my former students actively trading.... and they love it.

May the Wind Continue to Blow in your Sails....

Sounds liek a great deal if you can finalize that floor space. being in an office environment like that will make trading more fun and a great environment.

SPAN margins. That is the primary reason I am still trading it.
