If the trade works out that is a 3.3% gain on margin for a 3 day trade. Not too shabby! I like to get at least that much when I put my positions on with 30 days or less to go.

Just so you know, the SET can on occassion (not very often) finish 5 to 10 points or so different from the close on the SPX the Thursday before. To the best of my knowledge the last time this happened was in June of this year where the SET was, I believe, over 10 points higher than the closing price of the SPX.

Coach knows more about this than I do and will hopefully add to my comments.

If your interested I found a nice spreadsheet with historical's for the SPX and OEX. I'm not all that sure how to use it yet, but it looks interesting.

I downloaded it free from http://www.optionsrez.com/

    Please comment on it's usefullness.

  5. Does anyone here look at market internals? I do and I'm having a hard time believing that this "end of year" rally will continue because the Advance/Decline line has diverged from the index and the 52-wk high/low tells the same story.

  6. The rally certainly has not really started yet since there is some weakness behind this move. The SPX hit resistance and bounced back and will most likely be flat through Thanksgiving.

    Andy,

You may find these automated chart updates of the market of interest. I visit them weekly.... they really help take the emotion out of the decisions.

There are others.... but these I check often. I especially like the sector analysis... makes for great EFT selections.

I have these sites all marked in my SpeedResearch software under a multi-tab link. Brings them all up with one click of the button.... what a wonderful software program.

    Enjoy,

  8. call it women's "intuition"..actually I decided to play the (non) volatility of this month in part because these message boards have been so quiet:D thats the best indicator of volatility out there. I'm still holding on...if spx gets within 5 pts of either short (1220 put or 1245 call) in the last couple of hours tomorrow, I'll close out the offending contract

  9. Where are you getting your Adv/Decl info from. I've been looking all over for that, but can't find it.
