  3. I was finally able to get into IB. But, I still can't seem to get quotes for the SPX weekly options.

I wanted to see where Coach's SPX Weekly 1185 Put was. I typed in "SPX" then went to Options --> Nov.

I selected the strike and put. Then selected the route for "SMART".
I couldn't find anything. The only one I could find was for the regualr Nov SPX Option, with the symbol SPTWQ.

  5. Just checked and you are correct that the contract no longer displays using that method. We'll have to wait and see what happens when the market opens.

  6. Ok. I also email them earlier this evening. Let's see what they say.

If you do get it to work, please post it here.

    Thanks.

  7. In some book the author suggested that to diversify you have to sell options on commodities.

Does anybody here sell spreads or whatever in options on commodities?

Who can be a good broker like OX,TOS or IB for commodity options?

Is there a good book for options on commodities?

    All replies much appreciated.

    Thanks

  8. I have traded commodities before, though not successfully. I found XpressTrade to be very accomodative, and able to trade almost all commodities. IB does not sell most agriculturals.

In anticipation of December action (45 days to expiration), I called today to get the following strikes added

    1285
    1290
    1295

    Should be added tomorrow.

Why don't the brokers allow different expiration periods for vertical spreads that comprise an iron condor (I'm referring to margin requirements)?

    Example:

    1130/1140 Nov SPX
    1270/1280 Dec SPX

At the front month expiration, both positions still can't be ITM simultaneously, so why not allow this type of trade?
