  3. Seriously, Heatheranderson, if you can't simply spend 30 seconds googling "ES options quotes" and going to one of the 20+ sites which show these quotes for free.... then set aside options for a while and instead, read a few dozen books on Initiative.

    Yeeeeesh!!!!!!!!!

Heather -- futures options markets do not typically express bid/ask data after the close. ES options are nearly a 24h market, but the spread is very wide "off market". EOD prints in ES are settled using p/c parity, so they're more accurate than last trade data on equity/equity index options.

  7. Poopie - new account first post. Duh, I wonder who has a new "dopple" account here...

She is fine and your determined admonishment overhead just surpassed the signal to noise ratio of an honest question so you are more guilty than her in the sin of a needless distraction...

  8. The bid/ask quotes are on CME during the day I believe, not just the last trade but I have not looked there in a while. Otherwise if yu are looking at a specific strike for ES or EW during normal market hours, I can give you the Globex quote.

For ES just assume tha for options priced over 5.00 the b/a is on average 2 ticks apart for most ATM and slightly ITM and OTM quotes. (.50.... so 6.00/6.50). Further out it is around 4 ticks (1.00)

For quotes under 5.00 the b/a can range from .50 to 1.00

EW has much wider b/a due to less liquidity and can range from .50 to 3.00 at times.

  10. Also in most cases you can shave one tick on over 5.00 options...in most cases. So if the b/a is 6.00/6.75 you could reasonably buy at 6.50 or sell at 6.25.
