Caveat emptor, right? Clearly you guys aren't going to be buying Bone's services, but why the concern? Let the interested party do his own DD.
You have to give credit when credit is due. Big D and TJ were right on the price forecast, and others who opposed that view were wrong. It is a fact. To know if someone is knowledgeable or not, you use the old known method that is used in schools: the test/exam. Maverick posts about professors, should help in assessing the reliability of Mav's posts. I would like to remind readers that professors have invented cures against diseases, models and methods used in modern economy, made discoveries in technologies that we take for granted in telecommunication, transportation, finance, etc. If they did not make money, someone else did, but we all benefited thanks to them.
you guys bashing bone are very ignorant. i spread trade (plus i posted my august p/l) and what knowledge i have imo is extremely valuable due to my experience and earnings. at 44 yrs old i'm glued to the screen daily and i see bone's point in wanting to lessen the stress at 50. the guy is 100% legit (imo) and what he is offering is a chance that few get as i would never want to reveal my edge. he is offering no trades like scammer do and no talk of guaranteed returns; only a foundation...think about that.
Personally I don't buy into caveat emptor. Not that I'm not cautious myself, but I don't believe that dishonesty should be allowed to propagate while everyone else stands by and figures it's none of their business.
just for a moment let's say say he is legit. as you know i have said hard work, etc is key, but i was helped through the years from other trader knowledge points. the "ah ha" moments were key in taking me to the next level. it was a slow road for me due to that fact and if and only if , bone is honest and provides good stuff; the trader will shave thousands of hours off his quest imo. really no different than a school. i know 6k is a bit steep on the surface, but if he is good it's pocket change. if he had a service calling trades, i'd never be posting the above; but his offering is far different. btw, i've never spoken to bone , i just see it is possible for him to be legit.
Just to correct a misconception earlier in this thread. I was not attacking Bone, he misconstrued my comment about 'insults & nonsense spreads' as being directed at him. It was a general comment about the nature of the vast majority of posts on this site. As for Bones postulate that I am a retail, amateur punter. He is entitled to his misinformed opinion. Fortunately I do not feel the need to justify myself to anybody, especially an anonymous bulletin board. Here in lies the issue that always tickles me. For somebody who has experienced more of life than myself, has the responsibility of being a parent and has been around the block as far as the market is concerned. Then to quote Shakespeare, 'the Bone doth protest too much, methinks' If nothing else the back and forth mudslinging. makes for amusing reading.
I've already provided somewhat of a list, but to repeat and expand: - He's made an exceptional claim, namely 18 years of consistent profitability. That claim is exceptional because few if any of the top fund managers could make it. They've all had drawdowns and periods where there methods stopped working and had to go back to the drawing board. Like all exceptional claims, this one requires exceptional proof. Of course it goes without saying that claiming something can't lose is a hallmark of financial scams. As a general rule honest people have no problem owning up to the difficulties they've faced. - His business model doesn't make sense. He claims consistent trading profitability. His website claims his methods are designed to attract funding. Bone claims to have substantial industry contacts and experience. So why not take his very-consistent methods to his contacts, attract funding, and go to town? That should be good for 7-8 figures of risk-free profit incentive per year. Instead he sells coaching for a total of 5 or maybe 6 figures per year (totaling the fees from all his alleged students). That does not compute. If the issue that prevented him from getting the big score was a lack of liquidity in his chosen instruments, that would be an excellent reason NOT to teach students. - He's operating in a business niche full of charlatans and scammers. - He declines to provide proof of his claims even though it would be in his business interests to do so if the claims were true. - He has shown a substantial lack of expertise when posting here, both making profoundly incorrect calls and in not knowing the terminology and basic facts he should know about the instruments in question. This suggests his "expertise" is fake. - A string of accounts that post only in his threads have appeared. Those obviously smack of multiple accounts or shills. Coincidentally several of them have the same rambling posting style as bone. - He keeps trying to avoid the issue. When people ask for financial records, he gives them a picture of a desktop full of cheesy indicators. Huh? - When he was exposed as incorrect in the bond thread, he began acting like a petulant child on several occasions. I have NEVER seen a successful trader behave in that manner.
Big D, You obviously have an axe to grind, but you are just not getting a few things we are trying to tell you: I have no idea if bone is profitable or not. He has repeatedly said he is not selling trading calls. He is selling knowledge. He does NOT need to be profitable to be able to do that - although that sure is nice. He is selling coaching - not performance. He has also said that at this point in life he wants to augment his income by doing something other than being glued to the screen. What's the freaking problem with that? I have not found any issues with bone's terminology. You certainly are not in a position to critique that, based on the quality of your posts. So maybe you should just STFU. NOW, the most important question. Why I am defending bone? Because I have found value in his posts, and you are preventing any civil discussion here. Let's say for arguments sake that bone is a scammer (which I do not think is true, at this time). I & many others can still find value in his postings. You don't, so go elsewhere. I thank you for your valiant efforts in saving gullible people like me. Bye now.
