Please take a moment and quit your whining so we may have a moment of silence for Dave Debushere, voted in 1997 to the Top 50 players of all time. I am sure that he and Red Holzman will be looking down on the Knicks as they try to become something more than the pathetic shell of a squad they were this year.

    Thank you.

  6. Bottom line is Kobe got the Lakers back in that game and with a chance to win. He was simply amazing.

Jumping into Bowen might have made sense if they were playing in LA or if the refs were making those kinds of calls earlier (they weren't). Kobe made the right decision passing to a wide open Horry despite his poor shooting for the series. These guys are pros; at that level you simply give your teammate the benefit of the doubt (or should, anyway), especially someone like Horry who has made those shots his entire career.

I hate the Lakers too but unlike Optional I'm willing to give credit where credit is due.

  8. The home team gets a favorable call, extending the series and advertising revenues....I am shocked.

  9. You know....I've always thought these conspiracy theory ideas were guys like Harrytrader with nothing else to ponder....But this year, more then ever I am becoming alarmed....the refs are becoming the focus with one call after another...even if it isn;t the final play, they are in effect deciding every game...much like they did in the playoffs in the NFL last year....Memo to David Stern::

Talk to he refs and tell them to swallow the whistles and LET THE BOYS PLAY....Don;t worry about pity patty fouls...in fact, short of grabbing a guy, let them play through....In the 80's these calls would have never been made in a laker-celtic match up or even in Detroit v Chicago....I can honestly say that if these refs of today called the pistons v Bulls match ups of late 80's....jordan would have 8 rings instead of 6....he would have been on the foul line every time....If the refs called it rough and let fouled slide, they would adjust their game accordingly and it would make for a better game..Who the fuck wants higher scoring based on watching Tim Duncan and karl malone go to the foul 20 times???

  10. Oh, come on - that was TOTALLY THE CORRECT CALL. Coleman's hand was clearly in the basket from underneath, touching the ball. A child could have called it correctly.

I'd say the shot was probably going in, but could have spun out. Doesn't matter. I don't think anyone even complained about it, and, if they did, they must be ignorant of the rules or blind.
