"spirituality" videos - Part II

  1. Been laughing so much about this, that it occured to me that as a trader who now understands risk-rewards, I would certainly do like some players who go and bet against themselves before a match. Assessing the psychology of the opponent, people with serious mental illness ( stalker anyone?) can be too high risk.
Trading is all about limiting risks while seeking the highest reward, right?

    :D :D :D
I think I'd even go and talk to some Whales in LV for an advance for a deal! LOL.

  2. It looks like without realising it, the fact that they had to deal with me, rather than some weaker persons out there, was the only chance of people around them realising some people needed real help.
First we have stalking being actually a manifestation of some mental illness , such as schizophrenia, autism, etc... But actually pathological lying is also a manifestation of some mental illness as well.

    Pathological Lying a Mental Disorder?

Pathological lying can often be associated with certain mental disorders. However, these disorders are often overlooked by people because they either don't recognize the symptoms of a pathological liar or they just don't understand what pathological lying is. Many people often confuse pathological liars with compulsive liars.

    Pathological lying and compulsive lying

Pathological lying is much more severe than compulsive lying is. Compulsive liars often lie to feel accepted in the beginning stages of their lying habit. This lying becomes more habitual after a while and soon starts to seem natural, which leads to the term compulsive or habitual liar being used. Pathological lying is a completely different case. Pathological liars typically lie to benefit themselves in some type of way. They don't take into account other people's feelings at all and only lie to get what they want. Pathological lying is worse in the sense that they realize they are lying but just don't care. Noting these differences can be difficult if you don't know what to look for.

    Characteristics of a Pathological Liar

Although pathological lying may seem difficult to pinpoint at first, there are some signs that are simple to recognize. As mentioned earlier, pathological liars lie to get their way. Some other more noticeable characteristics of pathological lying are when a person changes his or her story frequently and they typically get really defensive when asked about it. You can also recognize pathological lying in someone if notice that they don't value the truth. Pathological lying in many people is directly related to some mental disorders.

    APD and NPD

Although pathological lying can be linked to other mental illnesses, it is most common in antisocial personality disorder and narcissistic personality disorder. Persons with antisocial personality disorder or APD are often referred to as psychopaths. The symptoms of this mental disorder include no regard for others feelings, inability to keep friends, and of course consistently lying, which may be pathological lying. Narcissistic personality disorder or NPD is very similar to being self centered. NPD symptoms include lacking empathy for others, being overly arrogant and self- important, and often exaggerating personal achievements to make themselves recognized. Pathological lying may be linked to these disorders so seek help if you think that you recognize these symptoms in someone you know.

Help for pathological lying should be sought with a professional therapist. However, since most people with these mental illnesses don't think that there's anything wrong with their behavior, they will not get help.
There are some instances of pathological lying being resolved in persons with NPD but there is really no chance for help in people with APD.

  3. Really amazing really that people are realizing only now that she should have been in a mental hospital. And only now people are starting to take their responsabilities to get her some serious help. Now, I myself would be very interested to find out the depth and the ampleur of what she has done - liar as she is, only real professionals can find out the whole truth. I feel for those who might have known or understood early , but did not know what to do. Really difficult situations for families.

I now understand why it is best to get people to sort out their mental illness early on, instead of letting them get worse and worse in their behaviours. They can not improve on their own, without help.

In the same vein, in trading it is important to find out early on about problems and get help in sorting it out, instead of doing the same mistake over and over again.

  4. I can't help smiling when I think I actually got as many from the whole saga to the same "coach" - a former clinical psychiatrist. Unfortunately Nick is not specialist in dealing with 'criminally minded' people. Obviously, they all shyed away from a really good clinical psy I put forward - former FBI forensic clinical psy. LOL.
It is no wonder. :D .
I guess this one would have found out very quickly about the real issues - mental illnes linked to pathological lying and schizophrenia. Facing the truth is never easy for people with mental illness. May be the stigma, instead of just acknowledging they have a problem and getting real solutions.

  5. Now for traders, facing the truth is also one big hurdle.
For me, the first hurdle was to accept that psychology was important for trading.
The second hurdle was to find suitable professionals who can give results :
I did not know how to analyse my limiting beliefs
I did not know how to analyse my own psychology
I did not know how the human mind works
I did not really believe that one creates their own reality.

And in a strange way, since doing this psychology/spiituality work,
I now look to situation from a psychological/spiritual point of view.
Not just the psychology but the spirituality as well.

  6. One year after attending this seminar, I am now realy understanding what
the mental/emotional/spiritual creates the physical means in practice.

    <iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fAb78OvJx48?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

These type of seminars just scratch the surface of psychological/spiritual side.
But even then I could not see/understand that.

  7. Been learning about people with mental illness, psychiatric wards, etc...
and I can't even feel angry about this whole saga.
I am realising how these individuals I had to deal with were very badly let down by not having had the chance early on to have discerning people who cared enough about them to get them to stay 3, 6 months+ on a regular basis at some hospitals where they could have received good help. Now, their conditions are just worse in a certain way.

I guess in order to become a better discretionary trader, I really had to understand how the human mind works, this saga actually got me to learn fast within a very highly emotionally charged circumstances about the working of the human mind.

This learning of how the human mind works is making it easier for me to read some esoteric trading books I , at the time, did not understand. I first understand how the trading writer thinks in term of trading. It really makes things easier.

I am really looking forward to see how my trading changes as I now get a better understanding of trader's psychology. I am curious to see if it will change my live market reading skills, and my thinking process while trading. :)
Would be really nice to remove the undesirable thinking patterns of over-confidence, high-risk taking and complacency when the p&l exceeds the week targets. At least I can articulate the psychological/spiritual patterns better.

  8. Adding on 'plan the trader' solution of cutting the position size after daily target reached, and after a winning streak. Let's see how this improves the trading. :)

  9. As I have not yet traded, I can not check the position sizing reduction as soon as the signs of over-confidence appear.

Otherwise, it is now clear that what is left of the 3 clowns trio is showing complete desperation : from the cat lover pal look-alike whom I have been showing internet pages in the sofa area, to the cleaner erratic statements such as I am bored of talking of cats non-stop, to a sudden extremely provocative personal presentation, to some ponytailed hairstyles I know of. From her new found language on 'rich men', to her advice on how to help one woman who can't help competing about how her dress is nicer or her boyfriend richer... from asking health advice ( my head and feet are hurt). This is just so pathetic really.

    * it is much better to hire a health consultant! They are not that expensive. Why are you so cheap ?

    * the only place I meet the scrutton pals, is at an airport after biometric passport control. It is no use bothering with these artificial manipulations. Yes we are happy to learn these methods of manipulating people's perceptions, but you are wasting your resources : use these to pay for a clinical psychiatrist - one hour 7 days a week. This would be the best use of your resources. :). Within one year of daily sessions with Nick, you will all become happy and whole and complete person. Then you will be proud of your own work and efforts :). We all know you are not proud of what you have become now. :). You went on the wrong path - and I know that you now realise you were idiots before taking one psy session. Keep going, take more sessions and be truthful during the sessions. Lies will not help you. Believe me on that one. :)

    * Nobody wants any of you to fail : everybody wants all of you to get help with a very good clinical psychiatrist. :) :) :)

    * Remember at the end of the day, everybody is free to make their own self-respecting choices including for personal relationships. :).
