Interesting discussion in the evening regarding individuals who are afraid to be laughed at. I am glad I did some little research on gelotophobia.
Obviously I am now booking myself to various clown circus shows. Long time I have not been to one real clown show, ...
I am also realising that studying these mental illnesses and how these show up into people's behaviour, makes me more understanding really. I now understand better when the coach says "the best friend for these 'clowns' would be someone to advise them to pay for an excellent clinical psychiatrist. Clinical psychiatrists have advanced training and are the best options for these lunatics". Before I could not really understand what the coach meant, but now it is very clear. Our "clowns" have not been lucky to have very good friends who would have encouraged them to get real help. And obviously, the characteristics of "our clowns and lunatics" is they are not willing to get help. May be that is the way they in a way get 'punished' : they just go deeper and deeper into pathological ways of seeing things and behaving, just increasing the repugnance and their disgusting way till ...
Watching more of these videos of humiliation, ridicule under laughter. No wonder people who went through that develop getolophobia. I am really feeling pity for these people : if only they could get the courage to go and see a very good clinical psychologist.
Just finished watching "superman" film here. . Uplifting film really. The face to face were so amazing, really great film.
Quiet amazing that the getolophobia mental illness is just now beeing studied more. "Potential Markers of Aggressive Behaviour : the fear of other person's laughter and its overlap with mental disorder" http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0038088 "Anecdotal evidence suggested that some outbreaks of aggression and violence may be related to a fear of being laughed at and ridiculed. The present study examined the potential association of the fear of other persons' laughter (gelotophobia) with emotion-related deficits predisposing for aggression, anger and aggression proneness, and its overlaps with relevant mental disorders."
http://www.plosone.org/article/info:doi/10.1371/journal.pone.0038088 .... "Gelotophobic individuals were compared to a non-phobic control group with respect to emotion regulation skills and strategies, alexithymia, anger proneness, and aggressive behavior." ... "The findings show that gelotophobia is associated with deficits in the typical handling of an individual's own affective states, greater anger proneness and more aggressive behavior according to self-report as compared to non-phobic individuals." wow so these childhood humiliations with laughter leads them to become individuals with anger and aggressive self-control deficient!!! wow!!! who would have thought!!! So the coach is really right : the pathetic indi-paki-aran should definitively start paying bucks for clinical psy. But apparently he is too COWARD to get a good clinical psy and be honest with the psy.
"The relationship of teasing in childhood to the expression of gelotophobia in adults" http://www.researchgate.net/publica...d_to_the_expression_of_gelotophobia_in_adults ... In observations from clinical practice, the origin of gelotophobia, the fear of being laughed at, was traced back to traumatizing experiences of being laughed at in CHILDHOOD . Because gelotophobia is assumed to be mediated by a personal sense of shame ....
just to remind why clinical psychiatrists : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Training_and_licensing_of_clinical_psychologists These people's training is intense : 4 years to graduate, then 4/6 years postgrad. So they are no-nonsense people who know their job very well. A bit like the "surgeons" of the mind. So that lunatics and our "clowns" know that there are very well qualified people who will work and help them with their fear of being laughted at. . Funnily enough, I simply can't help laughing when I discussed with a friend and explained I was looking into people who have fear of being laughed at. friend :"Are you serious ? are you telling me some people are scarred of being laughed at?" me : - with a smile "yes I assure you!" friend : " that's the joke of the month!" me : - "no no no. This is no laughing matter. You know the clowns and lunatics , apparently the hindi-paki-aran one has this disease" friend : "hey? " me - now laughing widely - "yes indeed. Now apparently he was properly humiliated, ridiculed and laughted at when a child. So this is why the hindi-paki-aran have zero self-control, and always seek situations and people who can humiliate him properly. Humiliate and ridicule him with maximum laughter. That's what he loves." friend " Oh Now I understand better! No wonder he can't get enough of the gal! hahahahahaha. that's amazing. But why doesn't he just go and get cured by a psy ? " me : " fear of being laughed at !" friend - huge laugh " hahahahah I understand. !!!! " Fear of being laughed at prevents the lunatic to go and see a well qualified clinical psychologist. LOL. hahahahahahah
Very nice today discussing with the association for my volunteering. 10 days to submit a full plan - now I understand better why I had to do all these different research work. . Looking forward to be home and have something to contribute that works !!! Also, with the study of gelotophobia, I am considering a project to reduce violent/angry/loss of self-control behaviour/ beliefs/ thoughts among young people and adults using CLOWNS activities! LOL!!!! I really like the coach suggestion!! As I have first hand experience of paki-indi-aran ( and his demonically possessed prostituta) lunacies, who could not let go because I kept laughing at him ( hahahahaha really amazing! the more I laughed at him and the more his unconscious kept him trying violence/pathetically disgusting methods so as to receive more humiliating laughter of contempt hahahahaha No wonder he complained of my "arrogance" LOL instead of getting the courage to put himself through various clinical psychiatrist hahahahaha) : psychology is a fantastic suject I can not thank the coach enough for getting me to look at gelotophobia. Gelotophobia! LOL
