I wouldnt be inclined towards selling any type of consumer product at all. Remember what I've said several times, I only want desperate buyers, people for whom the sales is mostly already been made by the time they even find me. It makes things a lot easier, and more profitable.

That sucks, sorry to hear you lost all your work bronks. I've always been in the habit of just saving stuff every 30 minutes or so and I cant count how many times its saved my butt. Bubbl is a very cool site though, like I said I think that mindmapping is by far the most effective way to plan something out.

Well, I guess keyword research is something I'll be going over in a section too. I was able to spend a few minutes and come up with over 100 possible keywords and keyword combonations that generate over 50million searches per month. Estimated CPC from $3.40 to $0.05.

One more point back to the Wii stuff. I think that so many people think that the internet is like the field of dreams. You know "build it and they will come". So, the go to godaddy and reserve their first website www.buymyshit.com and are ready to hook and book. Sadly the last thing most people on the internet are doing at all is buying anything, from you, me or anyone else. Now, they can be convinced to buy, that's actually not a problem, but their first inclination is not to buy. You have to help them along towards making that buy, and it's just so much easier with people in some kind of pain. The only pain I ever had from video games was eye strain :)

  5. Thanks. After I read your post, I checked around also, as far as I can tell it may very well be. I'll defer to your recommendations.

From the begining to end I had no problems, I thought I might, when I received an e mail saying they had renewed my yearly account and charged it to my cc ( I don't recall authorizing them to do that). I called them and cancelled and they refunded the full charge while I was on the phone. No problem.

p.s. The mind mapping link is great.

I've used Dellhost before and they are good, and I've used Amazon to host video's, but never Yahoo. I have used their shopping cart though and it was a very good product, so I'd imagine you wont have too much heartache with the webhost either. Personally my favorite is hostgator since they have a bunch of templates that are easy for an idiot like me to use plus they let you upload WP easily as well.

Two notes here. First I came across the site of Drayton Bird last night. I feel very lucky to have done so as there as a wealth of info on the site, and I'm also going to see if I can't hire him to do some of the copy for my next site (in a healthcare niche). It will probably be the most I have ever paid for copy as Drayton is a former partner of the late and grat David Ogilvy, having run the European Direct Mail portion fo David's firm. I found out about him at about 1130 last night and have been going through is site and blogs etc since, still have not gone to bed. Just do a search on Drayton Bird and you will find the site. Truly amazing stuff.

Second I come across an interview of Clayton Makepeace by Frank Kern. Frank is one of the top Internet Marketing guys in the world. He does about $30 million per year in info product sales. Clayton makes Frank look like a rank amature, his sales letters produce over a quarter of a billion dollars per year. In this particular interview that I will be posting the link to Clayton talks about how they generate over $80 million per year from a financial newsletter site. Truly interesting stuff if your like me, both a market and a marketING geek.

So I have spent a lot of time thinking about "website making stuff". First let me just again add the standard disclaimer that I am a website making retard and I know just enough to be dangerous..both to myself, my hosting company and any other poor sucker who happens to be hosted on the same machine as me. That said HostGator is very easy to use. The C-panel is pretty intuitive and has excellent instruction for the parts you might have a hard time with. Not only that but host gator has something like 5000 templates you can use for your website. Most common question I seem to be getting right now is how to redirect. This can be done fairly simply from within hostgator's Cpanel and they have a short video on how it is done located here: http://www.cpanel.net/media/tutorials/redirects.htm

Please note that there is no audio with the video, but it is very clear and easy to understand.

I hope this helps. My friend Joe (not the ET moderator Joe) has made literally hundreds of sites using Wordpress, dreamweaver and host gator's C-panel. I'm trying to convince him that it would be worth his time to create some free videos for us on how to do that vodoo that he do. I'm breaking him down and am hopeful that we have a couple vids from him real soon.
