I often here traders here mentioning tactics of specialists. I am not a daytrader. However, I would like to know of a basic source for learning or at least obtaining broad knowledge of these tactics. I realize that specialist tactics can vary from stock to stock(some are better traders than others, etc).

Also, if anyone is willing to share their observations or experiences I am all ears no matter how basic.

I thank you all in advance.

I am not trying to get anyone's homework. I am just looking for a source or some broad knowledge about the subject. If you learned to read you would see that I do not daytrade.

Why post to stop others from posting?

Sorry you feel so threatened by me.

  6. Sorry for the personal attack....There are just too many people entering this arena that want to trade like a professional without doing the work -- almost like becoming a doctor or professional athlete without ever stepping foot in the arena....I understand that you may be new to trading and are just trying to gain some knowledge and there is nothing wrong with that and my attack was unwarranted and I apologize. I deleted the posts that were above.

  7. do a search for 'specialist.' there's plenty to read. Still, nothing makes it sink in like experience. Until it's done to you, it just seems like talk. Sometimes it's so blatant it's unbelievable.

  8. there's a good chapter in The Day Trader's Survival Guide by Christopher Farrell on how specialists rope in the day traders

  10. bottom line is, if you're executing electronically, and they don't want to fill you, they won't. No matter what the rule book says.
