They can't comment on active ongoing lies too. That does NOT mean we can just lie to the FBI. Only the President can do that.
To bad scant few politicians much less run of the mill people think and communicate in your straightforward squared away respectable manner. A quorum of honest law abiding leaders of your caliber would solve 95% of the issues facing the world today, considering most of the egregious violations of simple everyday decency are illegal and unconstitutional on their face without the fancy footwork employed by the slimey politicians and their groomers, handlers, fixers, blackmailers, financers, etc, etc, etc. Good 1 is a bad mofo.
