Let's just get Jim Jordan elected and move on. I liked McCarthy and think he should have remained. What this has done is put him in the running alongside Kristi Noem for VP.

Jordan will have a harder time than Scalise! And I’m not even going there with Noem.

Here comes the inevitable if the republicans cannot get their act together. Out of chaos comes order. Someone like Chris Smith could absolutely build a bipartisan coalition.

  7. Pelosi was "seasoned" enough to not touch that game with a ten foot pole.

The dems help to elect some republican speaker then a few weeks later there is a government shutdown. Then you some dems who outsmarted themselves walking around with hot pokers up their arses they other dems put there.

No sir. Pelosi is no genius but she would not willingly write "kick me" on her back.

We will see. The other option is some republicans defect and pick a dem speaker.

Unless, of course, the republicans can elect a speaker on their own. Did we ever get the odds on the 30 day over/under?

Sure. If the republicans drag out long enough then a democrat becomes more feasible.
