BREAKING: Steve Scalise Wins Secret Ballot For Speaker Nomination as Republicans Buck Trump's Endorsement
The Republican Caucus remains in disarray
    https://www.meidastouch.com/news/br...nation-as-republicans-buck-trumps-endorsement

Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise has won the Republican nomination for Speaker of the House after the party held a secret vote. The vote was 113-99 in favor of Scalise.

Scalise was running for the nomination against Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan. Although Scalise won the secret vote, the Speaker race is far from finished. It remains unclear whether Scalise can get the votes needed from the Republican caucus during a full vote of the House of Representatives.

Significantly, House Republicans bucked the endorsement of former President Donald Trump who just last week endorsed Jim Jordan for Speaker.
