I agree with you that a "Space Force" is inevitable. However a proper definition of the roles, expectations, and responsibilities of a new branch of the military must be defined before a proposal for creating it is pushed forward. Right now the U.S. military is totally out of sync with this proposal being pushed by the Trump administration. This makes the "Space Force" look like a laughable proposal which is nothing more than a logo contest being run by the Trump administration. BTW -- choose a logo from the proposed amateurish designs. ------------------------------Trump's letter --------------------------------------- <name here>, President Trump wants a SPACE FORCE -- a groundbreaking endeavor for the future of America and the final frontier. As a way to celebrate President Trump's huge announcement, our campaign will be selling a new line of gear. But first we have to make a final decision on the design we will use to commemorate President Trump's new Space Force--and he wants YOU to have a say. Vote for your favorite logo.
It seems he has started a competition for the logo. Terrible, all of them. Branding first with Trump. https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/archive/2018/08/the-space-force-branding-trump-logos/567173/ Looks like they were designed by Barron or something.. super deritave and I think the first red one is actually directly copied.. I'll remember eventually. They should license this one maybe. Points for anyone who recognizes it without image search.
Only kidding BTW, of course the one he proposed for voting is the NASA logo in Russian red. I doubt he recognised it, just saw the goldy bit and tiny-fat fingered it.
I wonder if the'll be using Russian rockets? from yt So NASA is publishing data on climate change and air pollution? Let's take their money and infrastructure and give it Space Force. All information gathered from now on will be classified as military intelligence.
No, your post is laughable because you're still missing the point entirely, even after reading what I wrote the first time. So I'll assume zero knowledge on your part. SOCOM had to be FORCED on the services, as did Goldwater-Nichols because of inter-service rivalries and tendencies of each service to operate as independent fiefdoms. Both SOCOM and Goldwater-Nichols resulted in huge improvements. Read up on them. And oh BTW, Mattis supports this. The only reason he did not at first was because he was too sympathetic to the self-serving positions of the Air Force Secretary and Chief of Staff to keep it all in the Air Force. Mattis supportive of new combatant command for space operations https://www.defensenews.com/space/2...command-for-space-operations-mattis-confirms/
