I only share my extremely valuable knowledge in PM's. In the current enviroment, I aim to make 25 ESpoints per day, and am yet to fail. Easy when you know what you need to know. The open forum is more for discussing hardware, 'general' trading chat, etc/
I do not know what I am nobody's prior names were, but if I did, I'd read every one they way I have read his every post as @i am nobody . One does not have to post trades to be useful. I enjoy your journal, schizo, as do many others. But while many of those others enjoy for the trades themselves, I like it because I like to see someone taking responsibility for his trading. But I don't plot your trades. I do not care how you trade. I have nothing to gain from dissecting how you or anyone lese trades because I learned very quickly that I needed to find a way that I could be confident in. So I do not mean to disrespect you when I say that I cannot agree with your assessment that @i am nobody 's post are "worthless wisdom." I have gained much of value from his posts. I'll not explain the specifics, as I feel that doing so would only inflame the emotions of those who do not agree with me and what I see. Also, I believe that the true value f what he shares really is something that the individual must perceive for himself. If you can't see it, then perhaps you're just not ready to see it. Again, I mean no disrespect. But there is far more to doing well at this thatn merely placing and exiting trades. It takes no genius nor creativity to do that. I think that within ian's posts there is indeed a kind of genius and creativity that is very worthwhile to explore.
With all due respect, Stewie, you will cut yourself off from some very important sources of knowledge if your criteria for what is useful or not is posting trades on an internet forum. I too enjoy schizo's journal, but not for the trades. And if baron were to force me to choose access to schizo's posts of access to @i am nobody's posts, that is, if baron told me I could read one or the other but not both, I'd take I am nobody's. There are essentials there that really are coming from almost no one else at ET at the moment.
Yes. And I thank you for your continued posting here. I have indeed found much of value in your contributions, and I feel your posts are more valuable for the fact that you don't post trade entries.
So without any proof, what you say above can go in one ear and out the other. Also, we can easily add #4 to the list, which would be something like... 4. I am also pulling your leg with all this. Does this not completely fit in with everything you say? I completely agree with points 1-3, and yet, my point number 4 can also be added to the list without invalidating your points 1-3. Without you linking to your previous journal, I can just as easily assume that you stopped because your calls didn't work out and you wanted to prevent yourself from further embarrassment. You also seem to agree that we can assume this. And I showed you how miserable it was for one of your biggest fans trading mathematical models as well (no offense to fortydraws as I fully understand that making 2 trade calls that didn't work out means absolutely nothing in the whole grand scheme of things) Would I rather lose $200 or $2.6k? I don't think I need a fancy mathematical model to figure this out. I do agree that you are nobody, and if you expect to denounce what one trader shows transparently by offering no proof of anything yourself, you will never turn into somebody. Believe it or not, you have an ego as well. Anyone who posts here does.
Here is the thing though fortydraws, there is literally so much bullshit out there in the world that a person needs to actually critically assess what is being shown. I see that you are enjoying reading between the lines of what he posts which is great. And I see you're trying to help others by showing the numerical data of 5 minute bars in relation to their open, high, low and close. But when this is all added up, it cost you a chunk of change on Friday. Can we not agree with this? Perhaps the rest of your trades were profitable, I simply do not know. And you're right that what one trader does doesn't have any impact on someone else. But, and this is a big but, when you look at schizo's track record of real time calls, you can clearly see a huge edge. He does get caught up in chop, I don't disagree with this. But you know what, the fact that he shows this, and the fact that he shows the ability to continue by keep losses small and sticking with his plan, he often eventually gets into a winning trade that makes up for all the little losses. To new traders, showing this is of much more value than @i am nobody stating he can make 15-20 points from every swing. Asking us to take what @i am nobody says at face value is like asking me to believe what the politicians are telling me every day, or worse, believe what they promise they will do if elected. If you find value in some abstract concepts he discusses and make this work, that's great. But the minute he criticizes a trader who is 100% transparent and has a very healthy statistical edge and claims that he is a better trader without showing anything himself, I have to call bullshit and I also have to call disrespect.
