Depressing article... It was as if I was reading 'Atlas Shrugged' in an abbreviated form... The same mess, the same madness, the same stupidity, the same looney 'leaders'... Oh, what a sad world we live in...

I was born, raised and educated there, but chose to leave so that I could give my children and my family a safer and better place to live. A place where we do not have to live behind barbed wire fences, security gates, and be looking over our shoulder every moment we leave our homes.

I am grateful to have been raised in one of the most gorgeous countries on earth. I am also thankful that I don't have to expose my children to the fear, anxiety, crime, and corruption that now exists in S.A.

I visited the Cape recently. It was fabulous, but it was also a holiday with a skewed perspective. A beautiful place to visit, but not to raise a family anymore.

While the political situation is a mess, zuma is a real threat to democracy. I have to say that crime for tourists is really pretty minimal, My parents are from there and my grandparents still live there so I've spent quite a bit of time there. I was there most recently at the end of last year. If you visit the tourist areas like casinos or the waterfront security is top-knotch and probably safer than a lot of first world countries. The notion that somehow the World Cup is not going to be played there is ridiculous. If you go to the airport their is_a giant soccer ball a the entrance with a countdown clock to the 2010 opening. Now I could be wrong and the country could descent into anarchy but as things are now, I just don't see it happening. That's not to say that you don't hear about crime there but my feeling is that you just need to be more careful about where you visit, could there be some violence at the world cup sure there could be violence at any world cup and there usually is among spectators. I feel that the article posted really has an axe to grind because of his friend and is not necessarily indicative of the overall situation. Of course if you do go, be careful and stay safe.

  4. You are a moron and a bigot.

South Africa is run by WHITES. The whole continent was colonized by whites, mainly British & French, in order to extract resources.

The current structure & problems are all by design.

You are correct to call him out. But for the record, the whole top of Anglo-Sphere has it's share of Hebrews here or there. And yeah they can have some power not that it has ever been good at for the average Jew or even above average Jew.

Right now Anglo-Sphere has dominant Irish fractions. You think that is good for me or anyone else of the Irish extraction......NO. It is good for the "Bill OReilly's" who are part of the team. And that is all there is to it.

You are correct Hydro. It is a game and they are all in on it. In SA, it is a Ethnic Conflict Model that has gotten out of hand. They are simply scapegoating average Whites. Or average Indians and lets not forget average Coloreds etc etc And yes there are some Africans in on the game as well.

This one is not going to end as the elite have planned.

  6. Wow........I guess the whites that left South Africa are still fighting from the outside trying to bash the country by using the media.

The article skews the facts, this is not journalism but someone with an agender.

Since 1994 the whites have been bashing this country with the rand dropping from R7/$ to 13/$ only to come all the way back to a high of 5.80/$ in 2004, because it was all false hysteria. So the question is this, for a country achieveing consistent growth, halving the unemployment, increasing the education level of the general population, keeping inflation in line and running a budget surplus, why all the bashing by ex-SA whites? You bashed this country pre-94 and it grew stronger and today you do the same. To all those neutral people i challenge you to gather the true facts and judge yourself and do not read sloppy journalism.

Regarding the issue of power.......why doesn't these doomsayers talk about the 60 billion allocated to soleve the energy issue? Why do they not say that
only 10% of energy supply was effected? Why dont they say that the Mining companies were running at full capacity weeks ago when the power company came up with a solution to keep then running? I could go on and on with this issue!

There are issues, many issue and crime is one of them but this stems from the actions of the former oppressive whote government. Regarding the political issues, these will never turn violent as all is being handled through the rule of Law. Rrgarding the disbanding of the eilite crime fighting unit "the scorpions", why do the doomsayers not say the the public will have a say in this as well as all the other opposing parties as this is in line with the constitution? This is not a country in chaos.

The white people of this country continue to be racist as the latest guy who went into a black township and started shooting woman and children. They still turn people of any color, other than white from establishments such as resorts, nightclubs, residential property leasing. Many have vowed to leave the country and bad mouth it from the outside as it is shown by the many websites they have running even some showing a nazi sign.

It is alarming that Brittish whites are helping these crazy ex south african whites, i cannot understand why?

In short, gdp will continue to be positive, unemployent will contnue to drop, the rand is historically very volatile so it will stabilisie, the political issue will be hande suitably and there will be no civil war(its a joke to even think this if you have been to this country), the only real issue is crime in certain areas. Regarding 2010, this country held the cricket world cup, rugby world cup and many other vents with no issue. The FIFA delegation says everything is on track and many tourists will be here.

I challenge anyone with facts, reasonable level of thinking an understanding that this country does have issue, to challenge my points? I SEE MANY RACISTS CEASING THE OPPORTUNITY HERE, SA WHITES ARE WAY BEHIND WHITES FROM OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD IN TERMS OF PREJUDICE!

Actually mainly British and Dutch.....the British rarely get credit for being the first to abolish slavery however..(long before the likes of America etc).

And yes, white people are totally to blame for Africas problems...I see how much better run these countrys are under black dictators ruling their starving masses with a iron fist and wisdom from the dark ages.

  8. Many people look at the color of the skin to reason an outcome, be it good or bad.

But this is not about skin color. This is about dishonesty taking hold of a culture at every single level, moving like a virus through all it's institutions and folk behaviour.

Unfortunately history doesn't support your case for continued prosperity (for the masses) in such a state.

  9. Using South Africa as a case study, would you like me to paint a factual picture of what the white government did economical to sabatage the new government before handing over and how the economic effects of apartheid posed problems for a black government which the white government did not face, since it was swept under the carpet? Unfortanely many other african countries stumbled on the problems thrown upon them.

Let start off by posing a simple question. South Africa had an unemply rate bordering 50%, during white government rule what was the unemployment rate? Do your research and you will ask yourself how did this unemplyment rate sky rocket over night when the black government took over. Simple, the blacks who make up almost 90% of the population and who were left to rott inland were never accounted for in unemployment data but when the black government took over they were. The effect, media starts saying that the black monkeys are running the country into the ground, look at their high unemplyment rate. These people were also not employed during apartheid due to all the Laws reestricting them.

Do you want some more examples?
