Mini, If it is all an illusion, how long is it going to last? Also what do you think will be the weakest industries (to short)
Unbelievable. This market has to be minipulated. Oh then again I forget about all of the "great" news out there. When will people learn? When they nolonger have jobs, a house, etc..... Oh that would only bring the market higher...
News like this and the market still closes green: The market was uneasy after the Conference Board said its index of consumer confidence fell to 105.4 from 105.9 in September. The reading was well below the 107.8 analysts expected and raised concerns on Wall Street about the strength of consumer spending, and in turn, the economy, in the coming months. Also, the purchasing managers index for the Chicago area declined to a 53.5 reading in October from 62.1 last month and was well below the 58.0 Wall Street had been expecting.
S2, Is that not what happens in a bull market, bad news is shaken off, and we still manage to trend higher?
Guys, has it occurred to you that maybe a large hedge fund or two is caught short? Nevermind, no sign of intelligent life on this thread.
it is being manipulated, some here dont believe so. I think it is..... The news is showing a slowdown in the economy, especially with the housing collapse in the process and foreclosures skyrocketing and this market still moves up.. Cant wait till we get this election over with.. Barrons claims the Republicans will win both house and senate. I think the Democrats will take the win in the House, as for the Senate who knows...
yea but a housing collapse which has kept this economy on a roll for the last 5-7 years is now done with. News like that will not be ignored. It may be ignored now but when reality sets in and proof of a slowing economy really shows this market is headed back down.
