  1. It is still a rare event, I figure ! This is probably what LT701 meant.

  2. Old Turkey would cock his head to one side, contemplate his fellow customer with a fatherly smile, and finally would say very impressively, "You know, it's a bull market."

and you just lost your position sonny.

  4. Vix 10.50, oh who cares. This market is never going down at least not for the next 8 days. Whom ever is just now buying the dips you are going to get hurt if you dont use a stop.

There is only 1 thing that stops the rally everyday - the closing bell...

  6. You are welcome. Too many "I know it all" on ET, ready to jump on anybody they do not agree with or think are less experienced than they are. Humility and emotion control are very important in this business.

There has been so much talk about the S&P 500 taking a nose dive, but what is the market telling us? Trade what we see, not what we want to see. When traders or analysts(market gurus) repeatedly claim or predict that an event will occur, we have to question the person's motives, is he doing so in order to achieve riches, personal glory or adulation from the public? Maybe fame is what these people seek.

  8. I agree with the above. However, I think the culprits are not those gurus, but those who believe in them. For me it applies to many aspects in life. People can lie to us, and they try pretty hard, but we do not have to believe them. As an example, I "blame" more the readers of the National Inquirer than the publisher. And I do not want to offend anybody, but there are many other examples, from political figures to your car dealer !

I agree wholeheartedly, we have to seperate the wheat from the chaff as it were. It permeates our society, for that new trader who is trying to learn, who is eager to exploit this starry eyed trader? It's marketers and their never ending sales pitches, "You don't need that system, you need this one, this one will make you that star trader you've always dreamed of, it's the new and improved version, it's guaranteed to double your money overnight or your money back."

Gossip tabloids exploiting readers that crave sensational news, did you hear the latest on Brad Pitt? How do you know? the National Enquirer tells me so. The car salesman who needs to achieve his quota for the month in order to pay for his new boat, what will he tell you? oh, WOW, you look like a million bucks." The politician, what will he tell his supporters? If you want change, then vote for me, I will deliver change for you my friend."
