I contributed 1 month's worth of a 32-core CPU VPS server to this effort a couple of years ago, not because I thought it would succeed but because I wanted to make sure that I was part of the efforts that failed and verified it for myself.

The project is still on-going and I'm happy to know the security of bitcoin private keys are stress-tested every single day.

  6. False comparison. Cryptocurrency would compare to metal, including iron and all others, not gold and silver. Bitcoin, as a SINGLE crypto, not as ALL cryptos, is being compared to gold. You wouldn't say gold and iron/steel have the same value/ investing profile, so it's a mistake to say Bitcoin and poopcoin have the same profile. They're not in the same category qua investment. They are in the same technology area, but that is different. Bitcoin is limited in supply, it is not infinite and never can be, it is disinflationary (as is gold), and requires lots of energy to mine. It now has a greater existent than potential supply and fairly mature market structures. Institutional money is entering. This will dramatically lower volatility, along with the host of derivative products available.

  8. gold and silver is far from limited. technically, yes, but we are so far from peak gold/silver it's laughable. if (and I believe when) the price of both skyrockets, you will see massive investment into recovering more from the ground. And there is a ton of it as long as it makes economic sense to dig for it. especially silver.
