Soros says the EU's problem is not greece or spain

  1. Whereas yours gets taken to the cleaners regularly.

Meanwhile, you have still not provided a single concrete example where Soros has been intentionally disingenuous, as you have alluded.

I told you he is a socialist asshole who funds moveon -- even though he used to preach about the evils of socialism.

  3. You are correct, my apologies. Who needs proof when you have blind faith?

  4. If you took the time to understand his politics, then you would see no inconsistency here and view him as the philanthropist that he is. But your blind faith in your own ideology precludes you from acknowledging what is in front of you. Stu's attachment in another thread sums it up nicely:

Evidently, this approach of yours is not limited to religion.

you are the one who was implicitly supporting the blind faith of atheists in the idea they know there is no God.

You were the one who put up the illogical big foot analogy.

  7. Does anyone knows why Soros and Rogers don't like each other anymore?

    They were friends no?

Neither of them like to talk about that period anymore.

Someone should interview both about their time together and put it into a book.

It would be a huge seller.

  8. The big foot analogy is not illogical.

I was merely pointing out the absurdity of your statement that atheists can't prove god doesn't exist.

In any case, I've seen how you initiate circle-jerks before in the P&R forum so I'll leave this topic here so as to not throw the thread off track more than it already has been.

  9. You'll have to do your own chewing and swallowing.

However, regarding the famous pound sterling trade, how was he being disingenuous in any way? He made it clear that the Bank of England was pursuing an unsustainable monetary policy and he acted on it. He may have helped precipitate an outcome that would have happened anyway in due course. When he was wrong, it cost him. Nothing disingenuous there between his words and his actions. What else you got?

Soros's position on free markets and politics is admirably consistent and clear. Any confusion that may exist resides in your head. But don't take it from me. Take the time necessary to read his own words on that very matter:

Although the piece was written over 12 years ago, nothing about him has changed. You may not like him, but he is not a hypocrite. And he's smarter than you are.

Interesting article you cited about his open society concept...

    you find these goals admirable...

In 1979 Soros established the Open Society Institute (OSI), which serves as the flagship of a network of Soros foundations that donate tens of millions of dollars each year to a wide array of individuals and organizations that share the founder's agendas. Those agendas can be summarized as follows:
promoting the view that America is institutionally an oppressive nation

promoting the election of leftist political candidates throughout the United States

opposing virtually all post-9/11 national security measures enacted by U.S. government, particularly the Patriot Act

depicting American military actions as unjust, unwarranted, and immoral

promoting open borders, mass immigration, and a watering down of current immigration laws

promoting a dramatic expansion of social welfare programs funded by ever-escalating taxes

promoting social welfare benefits and amnesty for illegal aliens

defending the civil rights and liberties of suspected anti-American terrorists and their abetters

financing the recruitment and training of future activist leaders of the political Left

advocating America's unilateral disarmament and/or a steep reduction in its military spending

opposing the death penalty in all circumstances

promoting socialized medicine in the United States

promoting the tenets of radical environmentalism, whose ultimate goal, as writer Michael Berliner has explained, is "not clean air and clean water, [but] rather ... the demolition of technological/industrial civilization"

bringing American foreign policy under the control of the United Nations

promoting racial and ethnic preferences in academia and the business world alike

    promoting taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand

    advocating stricter gun-control measures
    ...
