"Songbird" McCain Gets SwiftBoated

  1. That's it? A Clinton/Soros group, Media Matters, puts together a collection of items that are largely matters of opinion or interpretation and that makes a decorated veteran a "lying thug?"

Let's take one example. O'Neill was accused of "lying" because he said his group had 60 members who "served with Kerry." The claimed lie is that they did not serve on Kerry's boat. They were in his unit, served on other boats and were all vietnam vets. They were in many of the same engagments. But apparently they are lying thugs and totally lacking in credibility because they did not ride in his boat.

I call that kind of criticism nitpicking. I think virtually anyone who was in the military would agree. "Lying" would be saying they served on his boat when they didn't.

  2. I think that, deep down, you know O'Neill is a scumbag. I think your arguments are about as genuine and sincere as that of a mercenary lawyer. I think that as long as there is a fragment of material for you to hold on to, in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary, you will close your eyes to all else and force yourself to believe in those fragments. And the reason it doesn't really pay to argue with you for any length of time is because it is fairly effortless for someone, anyone really, to fabricate fragments of material for you to latch onto.

  3. It might also be called a lie when someone makes a ridiculous claim about spending Christmas in Cambodia at the behest of the CIA. This is a claim that was also used on the floor of the US senate during debate on a defense appropriation matter in an effort to defeat a bill. The episode, so he claims, "was seared into his memory".

Nevertheless, there are those who feel that Oneill is the person who deserves to be tarred and feathered, based on the type of thing you mentioned. Then, they claim that those who disagree are too biased to see the real truth in things. It would be funny if it weren't so pathetic.

edit: it should also be stated that the person that made the Chrismas in Cambodia claim, when caught in this ridiculous lie, stated "I have a hat", supposedly to prove it really did happen. Of course he never produced the imaginary hat, but he did feel that uttering such nonsense would appease the nuts among us, which it obviously did.

  5. It's so wonderful having Canadian watchdogs like Tdog and TT2 to make sure us Americans stay on the straight and narrow.

Where would we be without our vigilant northern neighbors?

    Are you sure about this?

Invading Pakistan is "surrender to Al-Queda"
Raising taxes on a few millionaires is soaking the average working Joe
Raising the cost of energy - is this more or less than the 400%+ increase under Bush?
Promote abortion - yep, all those women will really *hate* having that choice
Not jailing and anal-probing someone for having a Middle-Eastern look or surname is "catering to Muslim pressure groups" - those ultra-influential groups in US society!
Open borders - more or less open than under Bush's illegal immigrant amnesty plan?
Slavery reparations - lol if you think Obama is craven enough to even agree with this, let alone dumb enough to commit electoral seppuku by trying to implement it
Gun control - you have a point. When you get the other 90% of Congress who share the same view to change their minds, PM me and I'll send you a case of champagne to celebrate.
