Son of If You Can Draw a Straight Line . . .

  1. So the method is foolproof and you're the limiting factor? Must be really good after all then. :)

I hear you about mixing time frames though.

If you want to trade long-term, I think you're better of staying away from the charts during day time. I'm not sure if you ever read the book about Nicholas Darvas, but after initial profitability, he got an office near Wall Street and lost his ass, since he was micro-managing his positions and were prone to rumors. For him the solution was to get away from Wall Street and focus on something else, while his sitting made his money for him. Just like Livermore would say.

    :)

If you're as honest as you claim to be and you expect your questions to be treated politely, then at least find out what the thread is about.

If you weren't quite so full of yourself, you would have backed up and read what last week's exercise was all about and why it was begun. You also would have found that at least a couple of people were able to reconstruct my trading day almost to the tick. These are the people who have done the work and will succeed, as opposed to you who are still struggling after all these years because you don't even know what the work is.

In any case, you know as well as I do that "real time" calls are easily faked on a message board, just as they easily faked in chat rooms. If you want to look up the trades I've "called" in advance, you're welcome to go to TL and look them up. I have no interest in performing for someone who places so little value on what we do. If you want to be all derisive and make smart remarks, go ahead. Who cares? What matters is who's making the money, and it ain't you.

In your last post you mentioned that the bottom in 08-09 was evidenced by the db in the naz, (the second bottom coincided with the low in the dow.). I am not quite sure how to relate that to today's markets when I see the dow and sp making possible double tops while the naz is making new highs on the monthly charts.

    I am befuddled with it.

If not suitable for this thread, I will delete and move to the

    BEFUDDLED forum.

Both the SPX and the NDX are at or near the tops of their trend channels. Just apply the lessons you've learned from this thread. No need to be befuddled. If you haven't learned as much as you need to know, then go through it again. If it still isn't enough, then begin studying the Wyckoff course.

  5. Allright, I'm sorry to have offended you, seeing how you attack me, when I have done nothing but asking you sincere questions.

I hope it's not rude to ask you the following before I leave this thread then:

    1. Are you a full-time trader?

    2. How much coin did you make so far in 2013? Expressed in dollars or as a ROI in %?

    Thanks.

Sincere? When you haven't even bothered to find out what the thread is all about? Please.

As to the full-time trader business, no, not while I'm in the middle of a multi-year renovation. Today in fact was spent demoing the kitchen. But I've been living off my trading profits since I retired in 1990. No reason why you should believe that, of course. I could just be making it all up. What you continue to fail to understand and will probably never understand is that the principles offered in these two threads apply even though everything I may have said about myself or my trading is a complete fabrication.

As to what I made in 2013, that's really none of your business. Don't smirk so hard that you hurt yourself.

Like I said earlier, successful traders don't behave this way. NoDoji made the same point. So who cares? I guess I'm too old to get all exercised about this nonsense. I have a great life. I couldn't care less about the Gimmees. The people who are truly doing the work get my attention. Like Game. Watson's been at this for at least twelve years and can't get past MAXOs.

  8. Allright, that explains it.

Good luck with the kitchen and your trading!

  9. Got it!

Hopefully this shows it, although my lines may be drawn better.
I thought you may have been suggesting that one index led the other.

Well, since you don't provide dates, I'm not sure what I'm looking at and I'd rather not have to count bars, and if you used a 1:2 aspect ratio, price wouldn't look as if it were climbing a wall. But if this works for you, hey. Or you could go by the charts that have been provided for you in previous posts.
