Sometimes you make money trading Nothing !

To a long only trader; cash is a position.

 

It may just be semantics - but forcing trades usually ends up badly from my experience. If it's not there, don't take it.

 

To a hooker as well. Many positions, depending on how much cash.

 

Im a long only trader although I have dabbled with short etf’s.

i dont see many whipsaw markets /\UDOW maybe. But for me i found better shorts[inverse ] + longs..........................................................................SPY+ SPXL going down mostly 'till lunch uptrending/parabolic up from there..........................................................

2022 and the elite traders still can't agree on whether the 'cash position' should be 'in play.'

 

Now he should practice to be able to put a decent title.

How can you make money if you don't trade????
On which market "Nothing" is quoted???

What his title says is: Sometimes you make money trading "Nothing" (where as Nothing is a commodity that is quoted on some market).
If you read it like that he basically is saying: "sometimes you lose money trading stock X."

But that we all knew already. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

I will give it a try:
"Sometimes you avoid losing money by not trading."

But: "Sometimes you avoid winning money by not trading." is valid too.

 

I think that if it is not there, you cannot take it. ???????
