    Thanks, Quah!

One more question for you...I'm only going to be starting by
trading one of ES/NQ. I'm leaning towards starting with
ES...if you had to pick one, which would you recommend
    starting with?

Yeah, I'd probably pick ES. No real reason other than that is what I've traded most of. That said, NQ isn't a jerky as it used to be. Might be a coin flip. :)

    Quah,

With so many people following your system, do you have any concerns about losing your edge eventually?

I don't think "so" many people are following this - but even if there are, I don't really think it can have that much effect.

  6. what are you guys using to execute a system like this? i know quah said he uses jtrader. i tried using brackettrader and that program would just not work right for me.

quah, which broker do you use? does jtrader work with ib?

i'm looking for a program that will send a target and stop as OCA. i also would like the first stop to SAR as OCA. what programs do this?

if i knew how to program, i would make an awesome program. when an order is sent, it is sent as OCA with your target and stop settings. you could then select how many SARs you want...and each set could be defined. so if it was set to 0, after the first stop was hit, there would be no reverse. if it was set to 1, the system would do one SAR with its own parameters. if it was set to 2, the system would do a SAR from the previous SAR with its own parameters as well...and so on.

quah, how are you handling these orders? does jtrader do all this for you? i can't imagine doing this without a program.

  7. quah,

do you know your win rate of SAR trades compared to initial entry?

Don't make a bigger deal out of the order entry than it needs to be, really. If you must have some sort of automated order entry, any of the programs written for TWS will build the initial set of orders - you may have to manually adjust the size on the SAR or something, but you could easily do that with a hotkey or two. PATS is a little harder to enter the stop, but much easier (IMO) to enter the entry and exit with a single click on DOME.

No, I haven't kept track of that. All the data is in the spreadsheet thought, you could get it from there.

  10. quah,

there was one day, 9/23, when your system didn't work so great. it would be interesting to know why. i know you don't like to know WHY, but i gotta disagree with you on this. if you knew why it didn't work that day, you could potentially know when not to use your system and avoid those bad days.

on the other hand, i don't think any system is going to work every single day. so maybe it was just the way it is. but, i'm curious if it is even possible to avoid this or not.
