    DEAR QUAH,

I would appreciate it if you could kindly say whether or not you pay the spread when dealing with futures, or whether you buy at the bid price and sell at the ask price (like some nasdaq traders do). Also how much commision do you pay. Its quite probable that the above factors have a significant effect on the profitablity on such a short term scalping system and that is the reason for asking the above.

    Thanks in advance,

    Andrew

I use limit orders for everything, so the spread doesn't come into play. Commish at IB is $4.80 r/t.

Paper Trading today this is what I have so far:

    NQ

    9:33 B864 S867 +3
    9:35 B866 S863 -3
    9:38 S863 B866.50 -3.50
    B866.50 S867 +0.50
    9:43 S867 B864 +3.00
    9:51 S860.50 B864 -3.50
    B864 S860.60 -3.50
    10:04 B860 S863 +3.00

    Total: -4.00

Does this line up with other results? I am not sure I am using the indicator properly in realtime.

It's similar - what are you using as your indicator?

Overall, today hasn't been good so far.

I had been using the 24,1,24 stochastics on the one minute.

I found though that the indicator was "lagging" from my data provider. I switch to just using the direction of the previous one minute bar and my results are now positive.

For the most part, altho I didn't take 0943 or 0951 because my datafeed got flakey. And, no, it hasn't been a particularly good day for this so far, possibly because of anticipation of the 1000 report and because we were trending downward after 1000 rather than bouncing up and down.

Were you using the relationship between the lines or the direction?
