Immediately. And of course again, this is still paper. It looks from the past posted results that this is how it is done. One of the reasns I moved to IB was for the reversing feature, even long to short. So I guess the initial stoploss would have 2 as a qty.
Yes Quah and phoenix, the revrse long was at the open of a new trade that closed an open short. You guys are right. Sorry for the redundancy, while I'm typing my answer you guys are nailing it. Maybe voice recog is what I need.
I've been waiting for the next bar, though it may not make much difference. I'll have to paper-trade both simultaneously (fortunately, it doesn't come up that often). --Db
Quah, while we are between trades, ctrader PM'd me about his TradeExecutor product. Looks good. I see you use the PATJtrader which I looked at briefly last nite. Do you have time to talk about that. Order entry efficiency is key here, especially if trading both contracts. Thanks if you can, thanks if you can't!
I believe he is following the times I put in my first post - this last NQ trade woulda been a short @ 874.50, ended up getting stopped out and reversed at 878 (-3.50), and then sold at 881.50 (+3.50).
For the NQZ02 trade at 11:54 Short at open of 11:54 bar - 874.50 Close short and reverse long 878.00 of 12:12 bar for -3.50 Close long at 881.50 of 12:30 bar for +3.50 b/e For ESZ02 trade at 11:54 Short at open of 11:54 bar - 842.25 Cover short at 841.25 of 11:55 bar +1 edited after I see your post Quah, good, so I know I am operating accurately... now I guess the only question is, do I use 50 or 100 contracts.
