Here are the trades. I uploaded the full day and a little of the day before to make it easier. This is realized. IB took the whole thing I mentioned. Time is GMT.
Ok so according to this screen, you did the following with SNOW for 50 shares: 1. Bought @154.465 and then sold @152.16 for a loss of (152.16 - 154.465) X 50 = 115.25 2. Bought again @147.89 and sold again @144.67 for a loss of (144.67 - 147.89) X 50 = 161. and then 3. Bought for the 3rd time @147.0737 and that trade is still outstanding. Currently SNOW is trading at 150.XX so your 3rd trade is making money but your two previous trades had a total loss of (115.25 + 161) = 276.25 before commissions. Is that what your Activity Statement is showing? Where do you see your loss being $1K+?
Oh dont worry about that since it´s a meaningless difference but nice of you to have seen it! The loss was calculated for all trades during the day and its mostly futures. Loss on SNOW was just around 280 plus or minus almost nothing (closed on breakeven). IBKR debited me 2128.43 for the day according to statement and the difference between account on the 24th and 25th.
IB debited you 2128.43? What do you mean debited you? Your loss is $276.25 before commissions for SNOW, you are saying IB debited you 2128.43 for the loss on SNOW? Would you be willing to show your Activity Statement? It's ok if you don't want to. You should talk to IB and ask them to explain the Activity Statement to you.
I am talking to them but they are basing their argument on what the statement calculated. My total daily loss was 1090.69 with SNOW being 280.39 and the rest futures but they took 2128.48. By debit I mean the difference in account NAV between the 24 and 25th. My assumption is the system calculated my entry as being in the close of day before the after hours crash.
It is a fact not an assumption. All calculations are then updated the next day where your previous loss now shows a profi.t
