No, it was a horror show of thread flow.

If poster A had poster B blocked, and poster C had poster A blocked, then poster A and poster C see a conversation that doesn't make sense.

Not to mention poster B who has nobody on block/ignore, and doesn't know WTF is going on.

Please, Obi-Wan Baron, you are our only hope.

No, dunderhead! The problem is the innocent poster B, who had NOBODY on block and is seeing half of a conversation, is going crazy not knowing how to engage!

    Fukin' Aussies.

    Have some Beatles or something.

Welp if Poster B just STFU more often, he wouldn't be blocked, pwoblem solved.

Poster B never typed anything, so there is no STFU'ing.

Just deal with the new changes, sir. I believe it will be for the better overall.

Exactly and is why Baron got rid of it.

Those people who favored the block feature didn't notice the broken chain of discussion. It doesn't say much for them, except they are the real babblers

I have not noticed any change in any posting habits by others but I did notice this thread yesterday. It prompted me to check my ignore list...no changes except for the few I had on block/ignore. Those few individuals are now just "ignored"...no longer "blocked".

Not a big deal because those individuals are no longer active here at the forum or I stopped noticing them many months/years ago.

With that said, I do notice more people now publicly announcing who they have on ignore as if they're having a temper tantrum while working for a public relations firm. :p

If someone is going to be placed on my ignore list. I do not need to make a public announcement about it because I consider it to be a "private decision".

Regardless, it is only noticeable if someone else makes fun of the public announcement. Maybe someone should make a Public Announcement thread for them to post in to release that itch that's hard to get to.

Baron and I have been phone-tagging each other for a few days now...If he would simply ANSWER HIS PHONE WHEN IT IS CONVENIENT, I could get the skinny on these changes.

Alas. Our schedules are not copacetic. I'll get it out of him eventually, by hook or by crook.

My opinion, the ignore feature should automatically default to blocking the person, with the ability to ignore but not block.

We are now back to square one, where trolls have control.
If you block trolls, they feel the effects.
The current ignore feature leaves troll to operate.

We are seeing the effect of removing the block on the Bitcoin thread, where its turning to shit with squabling, pettiness, nonsense, distraction.

The more trolls operate, the more decent posters hold back comment and leave the site.
