Ho hum ya say. How many days, lately, have we seen a last hour substantial move from the day's low to the day's high. Zero as far as I can tell.
Oh sorry I was mainly speaking just in general. I just saw your post about CNBC, so I quoted you so you would see the last part of my post. I should of been more clear. I should of just made a post and than ask you separately about your CNBC comment. I was just saying I've never personally seen any value from news (outside of major events / news), nor have I seen someone be long term profitable on trading news. So, I didn't know to what degree or what you exactly meant by that comment if you wouldn't mind clarifying. I do agree some news / events are so big that they can help you make outsized gains if you understand what's going on and trade in the direction of your edge / chart + using the news. This is certainly one of these times, but generally best to avoid trading the news and any / all successful traders I know have the same experience (maybe yours is different and this is where you can help me expand my knowledge).
Ah the power of conspiracy and near-instant news turn around. Believe nothing you read on zerohedge. They've been wrong more times than I can count.
I know. Speaking of VIX, I want an explanation for the downward spike on Tuesday at 1 pm, that was stranger, took only 15 minutes.
Like just for entertainment purposes you mean? What good would an explanation do, even if we knew the exact reason, it would just be people back trading and telling you why it happened after the fact.
This time there is some evidence they might be right. A lot of strikes with 1-handle traded in March and it felt like a margin call to me
