I ran port scans over time as well, nothing ever came up, and yes, ad-aware as well, but thats not the problem.
As for myself, I could not tell if it were also malicious, but I have confidence that one of the thousands of other users out there would have found it and cried wolf by now. Just like when Kazaa first came out. BTW, slightly off-topic, but related...for those of you who must use Kazaa, be sure to use Kazaa Lite instead (removes the spyware) and also some people I know use Diet Kazaa on top of that. Personally I don't use Kazaa anymore.
Exactly. A certain well known party here on ET has given out so much personal information that a malicious entity could have a field day in stealing his identity.
Jeezuz Christ. I don't understand how people can possibly even still talk about Kazaa...??? Let all alone spyware, it's simply the lamest filesharing tool out there, even super-lame Morpheus beats it. Anybody knows that. Compare the ratings on various web sites of Kazaa vs WinMX, for example. WinMX is the king now. It's superb, it's the - Most functional (You can do ANYTHING!) - Most benign (NO spyware EVER!) - Most sophisticated and configurable (You'll love it) - Most CPU-friendly (written by serious programmers, NOT lamers) - Most memory-friendly (Uses little any at all. The entire program is about 750kB!) - Now most widely accepted, distributed and supported (Find almost any music, software, movie, picture you like) Filesharing tool out there. It's probably one of the best pieces of software written in the last 5 years! It's certainly a software with a very professional feel. Anybody who still uses Kazaa is behind the moon. I don't even know anybody who still does. Except for a friend's dad, who is a teacher and probably doesn't know any better. But what am I telling you here? Don't believe me. Try it yourself: www.winmx.com Have Fun! Scientist. P.S: And don't install it on your trading computer, Trajan! http://mm.dfilm.com/mm2s/mm_route.php?id=1385585
I tried to run netstat command while running the API application for IB , Autotrader, netstat reveals a connection with this address:home.comcast.net. It's a Cable provider. Do you think the creator of this program is able to spy my trades, and those of all the users? Thanks for your help.
I'm pretty sure I said I don't use Kazaa. I was just referencing previous posts about it. I use WinMX. It is ok, but I am able to find more things, particularly trading related, with Overnet. As far as I know there is no spyware with it either.
