    Danny boy,

I have a simple exercise for you...

Do some research and find me all the traders managing 8 figures or more that have been able to avg. triple digits over a 3year span... any 3 year span will be sufficient...

    NOW

Go run a search for all the ones that tried and failed... You will not find many under this category because THEY ARE NO LONGER HERE!

    PEACE

  3. Seykota's pain is completely relative.

It may be that he hasn't changed simply because he has vast sums of patience (aided by vast sums of money) and he knows his time will come again sooner or later. So maybe he would rather cool his heels for a while instead of trying to find a new road.

And if he makes another hundred mil over the next decade when inflation busts loose and commodities go buck wild, no one is gonna go "yeah but you sucked in the nineties".

I agree with that Greek philosopher who said that no one can truly call you fortunate or unfortunate until they put you in the pine box, i.e. it ain't over til its OVER.

  5. I don't know anybody trading 8 figures, and I certainly don't know any making triple digit returns.
Go back and reread my post. I simply challenged the reasons you proposed for the apparent lack of triple digit 8 figure players, I never actually said it was easy to do - although it might be, I'll let you know when I'm playing with 8 figures of my own.

And, what do you mean "they are no longer here?" Were there traders doing it once, who aren't able to now?

  6. Why turn this contest into a big event? Tony, I think your idea was great and the educational aspect is attractive but you don't need competitors to do that. You have the stature and clout to do it anytime you choose. I think p2 has a good point. He can't be showing his daily sheets to everybody. If we are talking braggin' rights, who gives a flip about teaching? It's bottom line time. Forget the restrictions on leverage , etc. This should be the Outlaw Cowboy Traders Challenge. Thunderdome rules, two go in, one comes out. Hoo-haa.

  9. You can count on me for the $99. I would pay the fee if it is direct to the charity, or I am assured that all of it reaches the charity and none is siphoned off for administrative expenses, and that I approve of the charity. However, I think you should conduct this on the honor system and post results here as you would incur no admin expenses that typically eat 80%+ of a charity's revenues.

WHy not have the participants would agree to donate a portion of thier profits tothe charity also?
