I'm a bit of a newbie but here goes: 1.) Is it possible to short ETF stocks at Interactive Brokers or at any other brokers for that matter? 2.) Can ETF stocks be margined just like regular stocks at a 4X rate? 3.) Is it possible to short or go on margin with an account that is a retirement account? Thanks in advance!!!
Yes, etfs are traded as regular marginable stocks. This includes selling them short on margin. You cannot short in retirement accounts because retirement accounts are not marginable.
