I agree, she most certainly was not a low ranking manager at Google. I admit I lack visibility what she brings to the table that may turn around Yahoo. It sounds more like a story similar to Nokia or Rimm. Companies that are guaranteed to die because they do not have a Steve Jobs. Its actually completely unrelated to a gender issue. Can you guarantee that ANY men would do a better job in Mrs. Merkel's position as German prime minister or Margaret Thatcher? That there are such few women in top managerial or political positions is because of past gender prejudices and less opportunities for women to rise to the top ranks. I say this as a guy by the way.
