I love the Soloflex Compound Barbell: excellent workout. As others have said, nothing beats free weights.
Unless you really like to stay at home, take a look at a health club/spa. I'd suggest Bally Total Fitness. They have the whole series of resistance machines (no need for spotters there), in addition to full set of free weight rooms. Most have indoor pools 4-5 lane wide, in addition to smaller outdoors for summer. You can also find, whirlpool, sauna and steam that may be of much help to you during your full recovery process. Aerobics rooms are standard, including running track of 1/10 to 1/15 of a mile per lap. Keep in mind swimming is a great way to get back in shape without overstraining. If you decide on free weight training, you can always get a spotter either from other members or from the staff. Hours are great from 5 am till 11 pm. In addition you can pick up new routines from other members or go with the many of the existing programs. BTW proper free weights training is the best. imo They have many locations across the states and depending on membership you can go to anyone of them. Fees are fairly low for what you get, and you can ask for a week free pass to check them out. Been a member for over 12 years (they used to be Scandinavian Health Spa) and I think they worth it. http://www.ballyfitness.com/ As many posted here, don't forget that exercise and proper nutrition go hand'n'hand. Depending on your metabolism, size, fat content and goals, I'd suggest to pick up a couple books on nutrition and exercise. Good luck on your speedy recovery bud
JUST GOT BACK FROM PUMPING SOME IRON!!!! I WORKED THE BIG PECS TONIGHT. I AM HUGE!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SUCH A STUD!!!!! GIRLS MUST LOOK AT ME AND DROOL!!!!!!!!!! I AM ROCK MOTHERF#CKIN SOLID!!!!!!!!!!!
Unless you put at least 385 lbs of iron on a bench press, it's not called weightlifting. Good luck with your rehab. I give you a lot of credit for sticking with it.
I'm very happy you are in shape, but no..I don't wish I looked like you. I wish more people worked out. The world would be a better place.
