anyone else experiencing issues with the 2min YM PRV tool? At least twice a day, I'll just get a random reading which is definitely not correct. For instance today (8/7) at 14:56 I get about 9K lots traded when its really somewhere near 4K+. Then at 15:00 it shows 7K+ traded when it should be 4800. This isnt a huge deal but does mess up the size of bars and possible interpretation of the gaussians. P.S. The 5min ES has never had this porblem once as far as I can tell, just the 2min YM PRV for some reason.
Got a reply from Qcharts regarding adding DOM walls. Qcharts ( Esignal ) has a free program called QuoteTrader that has a DOM ladder with a display that shows the walls horizontally. It has other charting features as well. Works with IB, MBT, Esignal and a few others. Haven't tried it but it looks pretty good. Can also use it for an order entry platform. http://www.quote.com/quotetrader/
This is what I meant when I said sometimes I get all IP addresses, none denoting which server. <img src=http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=1559919 >
Thank you for the link, Ezzy. I just became aware of the existence of this thread and should have reviewed it more thoroughly before asking. I've been waiting for a few months to see Mak's eSignal PRV tool in Spydertrader's futures journal but I didn't realize this new thread had been created. I apologize that you did extra work because of me.
Thanks for the QuoteTrader link, too, Ezzy. eSignal does have an option for displaying the DOM in the "horizontal stalactite" style. I should probably ignore hypostomus' comments but I thought perhaps there was a difference in what data was being displayed as opposed to how it was being displayed. Thanks again for your help, Jason the comments I'm referring to (I must admit that I don't understand what they mean):
Tried adding pace lines to Qtracker yesterday according to this post and got this.(see attached) Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I should add that I'm using the Beta version cuz it had the PRV tool already as a part of it (thx callmate).
Yes, you need to link the pace lines to the volume. You do that by right click on the chart, select indicators, then left clicking by the horizontal bar left of the indicator description. This will link them into one pane. See illustration below.
