  2. Anyone have an idea about what's going on here (see below). I'm using NT+Zenfire as the platform/data vendor combo and as well Pepe's JH tools. When I 'add' the channel tool to a 5 min ES, the cpu usage increases dramatically (to 75-80%) and then returns to a 2-4% baseline when I 'remove' that component - the old step-function thingy. It does not appear to happen with a 2 min YM. The other tools don't show this effect. I have dual core F-18V with 4 gigs of RAM and a 250 gig HD so I don't think the problem is on my end. Additionally I went through the NT 'Performance Tips' checklist and made sure there were no problems there. Any help would be appreciated. Yes, I do know that with TN, well, 'we just don't have to deal with this sort of thing' and if I can't get this frickin' thing fixed I'll be joining the club.

    TIA

Edit: Interesting grid artifact but you can see the 'stepping'.

  3. lj,

I've had something like this happen with the Channels tool when I've had a lot of channels drawn. The solution was to delete the relevant .dat file, erasing all the lines.

Ctrl-del might do the same thing; I just saw this function in Pepe's code.

  4. Hi palinuro,

Thanks for your help. I thought about the 'overload' thing and so went ahead and drew a bunch of channels on YM to see if that gave a similar result. It didn't. Although the CPU utilization went from 2-4% to 6-8%, there was nothing like the 75-80% stuff I'm seeing with ES. It's like having one of those dreams where, as the large spiky, drooling beast starts coming after you, your flight is hindered by the fact that your legs weigh a ton.
Hey Pepe, if you're out there, give us some feedback on this.

  6. I had a similar problem once (on the YM actually not the ES) - I finally deleted the .dat file in the NT program files directory and the problem seems to have gone away.

I also have taken to deleting all the channels at EOD, just in case.

  7. I have switched platforms to TradeNavigator and am bumbling around trying to figure things out. Have run into a couple of problems and would appreciate any help that might be offered.

    1. The automatic pacelines don't show up for ES 5 min and YM 2 min but do appear in the OTR chart.
    2. I don't see anything indicating an IF1 condition.
    3. There are no Gaussians.
    4. There are no DOM walls (I have the ES chart on Globex time).
    5. There's nothing at all on the STR-SQU chart.
    6. When I try to do an EOD update I get an error message.

    The ES setup is below.

    TIA

  8. You have the 24 hour contract up. you need ES1 - electronic hours.

From the menu click Edit ----> Program Settings ----> Auto Update Tab. I believe the EOD Update defaults to 7:10 PM Eastern Time.

A quick scan of today's market doesn't show any 'IF1' Bars.

Make sure your DOM 'Price Laddder' has the same contract (ES1-200812) as your five minute ES Chart.

From the menu click Edit ----> Functions ----> Functions Tab ----> Spydertrader Str-Squ Spread and change the top contract name to YM1-200812.

As far as the Lack of Pace Lines, if they don't show up tomorrow (or after the EOD update, call Tech Support. A Number of people have experienced this issue, but many have not. I don't recall the 'fix' at present, but someone may have the answer as to what Tech Support Recommend.

  9. The reason I put the Globex contract up was to show the absence of the DOM. I've changed it back to ES1. When both the DOM and the ES were the 'Globex' contract, I still saw nothing of the DOM on the ES chart.
You were right about the default time. I'll check it later. Will also check on the pace line stuff with tech support.
The STR-SQU spread was changed to the current YM1 contract and I still see nothing. Also in the EDIT panel, the STR_SQU was in red with no box ticked so maybe that's what's up.
Have taken a shot of the main screen if that is of utility.

    TIA

  10. You may have to go and 'verify' that STR-SQU Spread Function, then click save (if the function didn't 'verify' when you clicked save after the edit).

Also, make sure you have the Gold / Platinum Versions of the Software. The Lite (Silver) versions don't use all the functions coded to the program.

Tech Support might still be on call out west.
