Software Used to Trade Jack Hershey Methods

  1. This is an FYI post for those that are using Pepe's final version of his JH Indicators for NT and is most certainly not a criticism of his work/coding.

Since the time he posted his tool, there has been an increased appreciation of LM's and LF's to the point where Pepe's protocol for initiating LM's and terminating both LM's and LF's is obsolete. The Pennant construction appears to be OK.

While many of the old pros may already know this, some of the newer people may not. A simple workaround for the LM's and LF's is to set the coloration of the formation = whatever the color of your chart background is. That way you can continue to use the Pennant stuff.

I am sure there are more sophisticated ways of addressing the deficits but as I've said elsewhere, I have the coding skills of a brick and little desire to improve on that situation. That being so others may wish to do a fix but one needs be sure that one has all the criteria for initiation and termination of LM' s and LF's before starting such a task.

  2. Curious that you should mention such things, tobbe. I recently observed a spurious Sell/Buy couplet which was forwarded to a dummy Dorman account and by spurious I mean that I didn't send either of the pair.
I did notice that no code was available for Pepe's indicators but thought it might have been some sort of proprietary thingy.
So it's the old "Who do you trust if not an ET chum?" conundrum. I know what I'm going to be doing.

    Gracias,

    lj

Edit: What happened to the tobbe post?

Edit: Let me be perfectly turbid. Correlation is never causation but discretion is appropiate.

    Sorry about that :) .

I got second thoughts since the post could be perceived to single out the tools posted by pepe, which was not my intention at all. From what I understand, they are excellent tools (I have not tried them myself), generously shared here.

Sorry for any confusion. Here's most of the original post:

  4. To find Pepe's "cs code" do the following: Open NT 6.5 with Windows Explorer and then click through: bin to Custom to JH Indicators and then open the latter with Microsoft Word. As best I can ascertain all appears to be kosher. If anyone believes this to be otherwise it would be greatly appreciated if they would say so as so many traders make use of NT + the PPIndicator basket.

I will ask NTRay about another matter and let you all know of his response if it is pertinent.

Did anyone else have a problem with the data feed from TradeNavigator today?

I received error notices and called them while market was open. I had to download a special file (clr1015 ???) to clear out bad data that was tranmitted earlier today.

If you run TN and did not have a problem, good! If you get an error message, I suggest calling them to clean it up.

I am testing Trade Navigator at the moment. I'm having some difficulties I hope someone already using the program can help me with.

What is required for the automated pace-lines to show up? (I have checked the boxes under edit chart settings)

The price timer is always at '0s'. What intervention is required on my part to get it to work?

    Thanks in advance :)

Sounds like you don't have a data feed into Trade Navigator. Try giving tech support a call.

  8. I spoke with NT Support and they have told me that the reason for the spurious trades I was seeing in my NT Control Center is that the "Dorman Demo" has multiple sim users and that if any one of the users tries to trade off that 'account' a cancelled trade will be generated for all users. I'll take him at his word and forget about it.

As I said earlier, my initial impression was that the pepe JHIndicators were kosher. I have further discovered that if you move the JH Indicators 'cs' file into the "Indicators' subfolder you will now see it in the 'Edit Ninjascript' dropdown from whence you can compile it and see precisely what is in the 'cs' file. Again all looks OK to me.

So, as best I can tell a thumbs up to pepe. As always if someone knows otherwise please say so.

The protocols that he used to deal with LM's and LF's are, as stated previously, obsolete.

    Thanks for the feedback Avi.

I do have data feed into TN, but I'll give tech support a call nevertheless :)
